As far as I know. You seem to keep track of him more than I do. I like some of his sermons and writings about church influence in American history, the steadfast separation of church and state, etc.

The flag article wasn't written by Baldwin, just published by him. I thought the history portion and the quotes were interesting. It's one of those issues where what we want to remember about the people of an era differs somewhat from what they would want to be remembered for. Just because we're not blatant in rewriting history, as the old Soviets were, doesn't mean that we don't have a certain amount of revisionism over the course of time. But to be honest about history, we have to look at the people and events from their perspective, not ours. Otherwise, we can never grasp the real lessons of history.
