Ron Paul won big earlier today in Alabama. He also won big in New Hampshire this afternoon.
Dr. Paul received 208 votes (73%) for a landslide victory against Mitt Romney today at the Strafford County, New Hampshire straw poll. Romney received 26 votes. Mike Huckabee came in third with 20 votes.
Tancredo (8 votes), McCain (7 votes), Cox (5 votes), Hunter (5 votes), Thompson (5 votes), Giuliani (3 votes) and Brownback (1 vote) finished the field.
As noted earlier, Ron Paul received 216 votes for a commanding first-place finish in a straw poll today sponsored by the West Alabama Republican Assembly. Mitt Romney came in second with 14 votes.
The poll was open to Alabama residents.
How many people do you think are ‘polled’ in those MSM polls from UNH that cite where the candidates are in the rankings?
Never more than 400. Last one was 333.
These events have about 250-500 people in attendance...so the number of people sampled are no different...and just as valid.
As a matter of fact, PAPER BALLOTS are used so they are quite accurate.
Wow this is not true....he never bought anyone any tickets, not one person, never have and never will. Even if there were 20 people there not from NH, he still would have won..
He didn’t buy anyone tickets at the CNHT poll either.
This is true...what about the constitution do freepers not like?
Fred is no conservative, had no idea what NAU was, or pretended not to know!
"Yeah, but I gotta check out this guy playin' piano in the corn first. He has it in the groove, fer sure."
"Anyway, my Dudette said she's already got 50 of them tickets, or sheets, or ballots, whatever. Who needs to go over there? We can vote right h'yare."
"An' that's not Fritos and dip in that tent, that's shrimp, and old, smelly stuff at that. Don't need none o' that stinky stuff around."
This is libelous. Ron Paul did NOT buy 200 tickets for people...they bought their own, because I sold many of them.
Spare me the Oprah crap. My daughter will be responsible for the national debt and paying out the behind in taxes to support millions of lowlifes who depend on government to get by.
None of the other candidates besides Fred (and that includes both parties) are talking honestly about how the impact of massive federal spending on programs is hurting the people. You can criticize Paul on the WOT all you want, but the fact remains is that you cannot simultaneously spend billions of dollars fighting a WOT with one hand tied behind our backs (thanks to the politicians and media) and spend more billions on big government social programs and federal bureaucracies. LBJ should have taught you that already.
These were NOT organized by Paul supporters.
The first poll was organized by a non-partisan tax group, the second one by the Strafford County GOP group.
NO TICKETS WERE BOUGHT by the campaign. Paul supporters care enough to come out for their candidate...
What other excuses will you think of to berate this?
Why not? His love-fest candidate couldn't beat Phil Gramm so it's a perfect fit.
Ron Paul is a political non-entity........stop the daily posts on this guy, please!
You cannot fight a WOT but then leave the borders open and allow millions of Muslim immigrants to come here. That is completely suicidal.
Ron Paul is one of the few candidates who support REAL border security and reform of existing immigration laws. No, not the "pathway to citizenship" crap, not the "guest-worker" BS, he wants the borders MILITARIZED.
All of our troops should be out of the Middle East by 2010, IMO. We should kill as many terrorists as possible and then tell Iraq and Afghanistan they need to crap or get off the pot, and tell the region that if we're ever attacked again or even think about it, they'll be a smoking pile of rubble. We need to stop sticking our noses into this stupid region that's been at war since biblical times.
We like the Constitution and want to simplify, but we can not throw the baby out with the bath water. We did not get to this point over night. We can just stop and flip a button and be back like it was in 1789. We have to work at it. Sending up someone who starts spouting off such will scare the hell out of 90% of the voting public, both left and right. It is ingrained in the way were are. Scare the masses and IT WILL GO BACKWARD, instead of moving towards a more Conservative stance the backlash will be unbearable.
Also there are some institutions that have evolved outside the Constitution that must stay or be challenged ad approved or an amendment or whatever. We need the roads we have, we need the CDC, we need the FAA etc. And on a personal note, please can we keep Louisiana, I have a thing for real Cajun food. The state was not acquired “Constitutionally”
Come on guys, despite the differences I know most of you are pretty smart. You know this. We have to wean the people off the system or we will never do it. It is not black and white, the world never has been, but we can change the gray to our way of thinking with time and effort, patience and a touch of tact...
Your screeds aren't typo's jonesie, they're incohernet babble. Blackbird.

So? Neither were state-wide events. And they were events that other candidates decided to pass on. They're in no way anything to crow about (except for people desperate for recognition). Get a life (and a candidate).
Which means nothing to an American. Current Iraqi policy ensures defeat. Laugh at Ron Paul, but our current involvement is more laughable and costly. Door-to-door eradication of Johnny Jihad is the most expensive method a bean counter could ever dream of. Intentional?
Trolling trolling trolling....LOL! Blackbird.
Projectig AND Trolling trolling trolling...Blackbird.
Your logic taken to its full extent would dictate that blind support should be given to any candidate who has managed to portray himself as he who supports the Constitution the most. This is only a label.
Heres the important point in your comment: you wont find anyone here bashing the Constitution itself.
