And to Paul's acolytes - do you people really think Iran is not a threat to U.S. interests? That we should just let Iran be?

If we gotta handle Iran, let's do it Constitutionally.

Sadly for us, Dr. Paul doesn't speak in sound bytes.

How can the party operatives successfully attract the Ron Paul supporters? Is it even possible?

In a word? No. I've had enough of the catchphrases and empty promises from politicians that are out to do their best to break their word once they take office.

You are certainly part of a growing group.

Let’s talk about something more interesting.

Say, like, the candidacy of Duncan Hunter. :)

ping to #39, the words of Ronald Reagan from his memoirs, regarding his pullout of troops from Beirut.

My question would be, of the 19 hijackers on September 11th 2001, all were Saudis except for an Egyptian, one from the UAE, and a Lebanese national. Why did we not attack Saudi Arabia? Why did we basically drop out of Afghanistan? We should have had a banner for that reading “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED” after we hung Bin Laden. Instead, he’s free and Saddam, a dictator who had been under sanctions for TEN YEARS, is dead?

And in 18 months, we’ll be neck deep in the middle of another Constitutionally illegal, undeclared war we can not win and should not be fighting in Iran.

Meanwhile our borders will still be wide open.

Thanks. I posted that the other day and sadly, none of the “cut and run” accusers, chest thumping warmongers, or other Ron Paul bashers responded to it.

I doubt most even read it.

Baloney - I think you know that. Seems to me the terms kook and moonbat and Paulbot made their way into the lexicon after Rudy (of all people) huffed and puffed on stage one evening in mock offense. He could have counter-argued RP but chose to get all offended - a favorite liberal tactic.

You're barking up the wrong tree. I'm no Rudy fan. Not by a long shot.

What I do know is that early on when I tried to ask reasonable questions from Pauls' supporters on here, I received a lot of snotty, rude replies and personal attacks on my character and intellect. I have seen this happen to others as well.

As I said, with a couple of exceptions, I have found the Paul crowd to be rude, angry and hostile. If this is what he has for campaign workers, I actually feel sorry for the guy.

well, I have seen the reverse, especially in headlines about Ron Paul, in wich colorful monikers are added. But let’s move on.

Who do you support?

You sir are a liar. I challenge you to show where he said those words.

You sir are incorrect. Here is the quote from Ron Paul in the SC debate:

"Have you ever read the reasons they attacked us? They attack us because we've been over there; we've been bombing Iraq for 10 years."

Here is the link to the entire transcript.

Republican Debate Transcript, South Carolina

Now, apologize to byteback for calling him a liar.

Say, like, the candidacy of Duncan Hunter. :)

I'm willing and I like Duncan. But his 2Q fundraising is pretty poor.

Treasurer: Bruce Young

(End Summary, FEC FORM 3P)

Ron Paul about 3 times better than Duncan in 2Q fundraising. And Tancredo almost doubled what Hunter brought in.

Duncan's campaign, after two fundraising quarters, is more broke than McCain. Tancredo still has about $600K. Ron Paul has a warchest of $2.4 million 'cause he never spends anything (personally, I think he's converted it all to bullion and does that Scrooge McDuck swimming-in-his-vault thing LOL).

Anyway, at some point, don't we have to expect our candidates to move forward, bring in new money and new supporters? Yeah, I think we do.

RP is in no trouble and is growing nicely (he would have almost matched Romney's fundraising except Moneybags Romney lent himself $6 million to keep his numbers inflated). But Tancredo, and especially Hunter, are on the verge of dropping out, along with McStain.

I keep thinking that either Hunter or Tancredo should drop out so their supporters can unify behind one candidate. It is, in the end, about implementing policy, not about personalities. We need to keep our guys in the race and in the debates.

Oh, they read it all right, searching for any trollable response. Then they fled. That's their drive-by M.O.

You should understand that most of these neo-con cheerleaders have little grasp of history or geopolitics. Only a few have ever served in the military. They mostly echo what little they can recall of the latest neo-con talking points.

They're simple partisans, hacking out scurrilous attacks on Ron Paul because they know the establishment GOP doesn't like him.

You know, if a Xlinton is elected in '08, Ron Paul will suddenly be very very popular at FreeRepublic again, just like he was in the pre-Bush era. LOL.

They'll all be whimpering and whining that they're overrun by illegals, Hillary's grabbing their guns, the U.N. is sucking up their taxes, foreign "aid" spending through the roof, our soldiers being forced to fight under the U.N. bannner again and under incompetent non-American commanders.

Then they'll appreciate Dr. No again and sing his praises.

You almost have to feel sorry for them as the neo-con meltdown approaches with the end of the Bush era.

No. Ron Paul stated in the debated that we deserved 9/11

Not this again. What a load.

bb's words were "RP said ... we deserved 9/11 so therefore isn't sane enough to be CINC"

what was really said was, as you pointed out, "They attack us because we've been over there; we've been bombing Iraq for 10 years

Your quote from RP is accurate; however, you will notice that RP didn't say we deserved it.

He said our actions were what motivated them or possibly provoked them (which is his opinion and may or may not be true), but he didn't say we deserved the attack. This is strictly one person's distortion of what was really said.

I stand by my assessment of bb as a liar or I guess a distorter if you want to split hairs and I sure as hell am not going to apologize to someone who misquotes something to exaggerate his attack on RP.

Odd, I was under the impression we invaded Iraq because Saddam represented a threat to national security (his ties with Al Qaeda too, don’t forget that).

That's what I remember as well, however, when the operation started it was called "Iraqi Freedom". We are still throwing money away trying to instill democracy and playing Peace Corps while our troops get shot at and the Iraqi Parliament goes on vacation. I agreed with the going in and kicking butt part, but after that I don't think we should still be there.

What the hell are you talking about?

I defy you to find A SINGLE quote from Ron Paul that said 9-11 was either a conspiracy or an inside job.

The only thing you will find are a few fringe wackos who asked Ron Paul what he would do, if anything, to re-investigate 9-11.

He spanked them down by saying the only thing we need to investigate is why we spend $4 billion a year on intelligence and yet a field agent reported over 70 times to their superiors that these same guys wanted to learn how to fly planes but not take off and land, and yet we still had 9-11.

Again, I DEFY YOU TO FIND ME A SINGLE QUOTE FROM RON PAUL THAT SAYS ANYTHING ELSE.

Until then, shut up.

LOL - you are about the LAST person who should be posting those cute little graphics.

You just can't help but act ugly, can you?

You have the unique ability to be disgusting and amusing at the same time.
