Notice the Neo-Catholic use of the word "Living". Just like the Living Constitution, i.e., anything *but* the Constitution. Not what the dead white men like St. Paul and St. Peter set it up to be.

It is amazing the amount of traditionalist reasoning and proof-texts that come out on a weekly basis: Remnant, Catholic Family News, the Angelus, SeattleCatholic.org, Christ or Chaos and the whole raft goes totally unrebutted by the Conservatives. All they can do is carp about "negativity" because they have no answers. They could manage only one (weak) reply to the 400-page The Great Facade. Weird.

As a major organ of the neo-Catholic establishment, Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) has cooperated in burying landmarks of the faith, even as it presents itself as a bastion of rock-solid Catholic Tradition. EWTN’s mixture of certain aspects of traditional Roman Catholicism with absolutely appalling novelties invented during the past 40 years — novelties that would have reduced the pre-conciliar popes to a state of apoplexy — is the very essence of neo-Catholicism...

Answer by Catholic Answers on 08-14-2003:

Dear Jacob,

Would that you were given the grace to recognize Jesus as the Son of God and could join the Catholic Church. But if you honestly cannot accept Him as such, by living a life as a devout Jew, you can reach Heaven. This is what the Catholic Church teaches. AND Mel Gibson's movie, "The Passion" does NOT contradict this.

Fr. Vincent Serpa, O.P.

That's it? That's pretty thin. Whoever wrote this should be thanking God for EWTN. I can't imagine life without it.

Here's a good article on ETWN found in the National Review Online.

What a great, great story. Thanks for posting it.

(I didn't know that she had seen St. Michael the Archangel, but the author left out the incident when she was somewhere in South America a statue of Jesus turned to her and told her to "build me a temple," hence the new "temple" in Alabama.)

I can't imagine life without it.

I'm glad it fulfills your needs.

I, myself, have no need for it.

EWTN is a silly network for Catholic women. It is not for serious Catholics. Did you ever see anyone as ridiculous as Penny Lord? At the end of her show she says "We love you." Give me a break.

So, you think Catholic women are silly? You think Catholic women are not serious about their faith?
