It is so nice to make a difference, as slight as this one might be. At minimum, it's obvious there are many people invested in Terri's fate and saying a prayer for her.

If the media chooses to view the heavy response as merely a sign this is a controversial topic, that's fine too -- as long as they investigate her situation and provide a LOT of coverage concerning the strangeness of the proceedings.

I am really proud, to be part of this group of people who care enough to work at lighting one small candle in the dark, as Deo put it.

In the Orthodox church we believe in the concept of community as a means of salvation, to put it very roughly. Christ spoke of 2 or 3 gathered in His name. The Trinity is a triune God. No one is alone.

On this thread, if nothing else, a diverse group of believers in God came together for one purpose, and I think it was not a trivial purpose. It gives me great hope for our future, because we must come together, I believe, in order to fight the culture of death.

May this thread be symbolic of our future battles.

I would love to see this poll go in the exact opposite direction as it was when we became aware of it! Wouldn't it be nice to see 28% yes and 70% no? I can dream, can't I?

I am glad you feel this way. I have taken this poll far more seriously than perhaps I should, but then my priest said today that he was glad we did what we did here....in fact he thought is was great to go after this poll. :-)

In the Orthodox church we use a lot of symbolism, and I think that is what this poll has been for me from the start, a symbol of hope, a symbol of people gathering to fight back, as well as an avenue to do something that makes a difference.

I am so glad people have cared and responded, because in a larger way, if people did not care and respond to this poll, I guess I would extrapolate that to thinking people did not care about fighting back at all. Probably not true, but there it is.

For me, each person who has voted and worked at voting has shown the love of Christ here, in a very direct way, for Terri and her family.
