Give it up.
It's getting boring.
If you don't want to eat meat, then don't do it. Here or in heaven.

I don't understand what medals have to do with anything. There is nothing special about a medal, either for humans or animals. As for animals in heaven, yes I believe that there will be animals in heaven. The will be a Lamb:>)When you read Genesis, you see God declaring the animals "Good" after he created them. In Revelation you see God declaring that nothing impure will enter the gates. Also, where does Jesus get the horse when he comes down from heaven riding his horse.

That was a nice reply.
Thank You for being a Kind FReeper.
Most everybody are sick of my animal postings.
All I ever was trying to convey is that I do not think all animals are for eating.

I like animals, I also like to eat animals. Sorry about that. Some animals I don't feel are to be eaten, dogs, cats, most preditory animals, but I have no problem eating cow, pig, chicken, duck, venison... etc. There is no prohibition in the Bible about eating animals.

Well, I think this may be a form of
scrupulosity.
I don't know what religion you are, but if you are a Christian, consider this: Our Blessed Lord, when He came to live among us, ate, at the very least, fish and lamb.
More seriously, a person trying to achieve some sort of spiritual advantage by not eating animals, is, it seems to me, in danger of trying to be better than God Himself.
Of course, your intention may be good, but it's perhaps something to think about.

If it makes you feel better, Carmelites are vegetarians. But not because they object to eating meat, but because poor people in the past (and today) rarely get to eat meat, and it is a form of poverty.
Jesus said it was not important what goes in the mouth but what comes out of the mouth. Christians never have been vegetarians per se, because it places the emphasis on what is not essential.
You seem to be against killing animals out of a sense of compassion, but as a doctor I have to warn you that it is difficult to be well nourished as a vegetarian. Yes, you can, especially in rich countries. But protein malnutrtion is a major problem in the poorer countries. We taught chicken and rabbit raising in Africa, as part of our nutrition program. Eggs were used to prevent kwashiorkor in young kids. WHen chickens stopped laying eggs, they got eaten.
My adopted sons tell the story of their mother finding a wandering chicken (from a richer neighbor) and killing it to feed her kids. "mom", they explained,"sometimes you get weak and need some meat".
I have a daughter in law who refrains from meat because of the destruction of the Amazon from rancher, and from chicken factories.
But other relatives run chicken "factories" in the Philippines, a way to raise cheap chicken so that poor factory workers in nearby Manila can eat chicken and be well nourished.
I love animals, and we watch nature shows all the time. But the underlying themes of a lot of these shows is "loss of habitat". AKA poor people using the land for farms. As PJ O'Rourke once remarked, being green is often just politically correct racism.
I worry more about my friends in Africa dying of starvation and disease than eating meat.

Why do you persist, when you do not give any serious to response to those who are trying to share with you the traditional understanding of the Scriptures?
Believe what you want. It's a free country. I just don't see why you post here when you are not prepared to engage the responses you receive.

You say that animals will be in heaven but do not give any evidence to support your claim. That's not a good position to be in. If you wish to put a little more meat into your argument (sorry, I couldn't resist) next time you might want to say something like "I believe there will be animals in heaven because in the Book of Revelation Jesus returns riding a white horse."

1 Tim 4:3 points out that one of the signs of apostacy as "commanding to abstain from meats." To me that seems that if you wish to abstain, feel free. However, if you argue or try to convince others to abstain, you are in apostacy from the Gospel of Christ.

Animals, like cigars, will be in heaven.
Otherwise, what a boring place it will be if you have to spend it with just the types on this thread.

I guess I'll have a hard time explaining my arsenal of shotguns & rifles being in Heaven. And I don't suppose I'll be able to find a good hunter's express to get resupplied. Sigh!
I suppose that me and "Annie"getyergun will just have to swim out and grab them geese when their not looking and pull 'em under til they stop wiggling.

Heaven would be hell without smoked venison roasts - and lean jerky
To: missyme
A few comments:
We do not "go to heaven" per say. For our salvation, we will be spending our eternity on the New Earth (Isaiah 65; Rev 21).
Therefore, we are to understand our eternal salvation as a bodily/material/physical existance (1 Cor 15).
Certainly, it is understandable (and, as one who is fond of animals, something I look forward immensly to) to understand that we will have animal life living along side of us as Adam and Eve did in the Garden prior to the fall.
Second, we do not "go to heaven" ~because~ we have "immortal souls". We believe in the physical/bodily resurrection of the dead, not the immortality of the "soul" (1 Cor 15). Our "soul" is not, in and of itself "immortal". Our life now as well as our future eternal life is and must be sustained by God.
Third, I have no problem believing that our "pets" "go to heaven". I know of no Biblical doctrine which denies the possibility that my deceased pets will also be there with me. While I cannot prove from Scripture that this will be so, I also cannot prove from Scripture that this will NOT be so. I find it hard to believe that these little creatures, who have meant so much to us in our lives, exist for a mere moment never to appear again.

"Heaven would be hell without smoked venison roasts - and lean jerky " Careful, Rev.
Adam and Eve as well as the animals were vegetarians before the fall (Gen 1:29,30).
I fully suspect that at the Resurrection of the dead -when Death itself will be destroyed (1 Cor 15:26)- that there will be no more animals utilized for food since there will be no more animals dying.
As an avid meat eater, that is difficult for me to say, but I suspect I won't be dissappointed!

All I ever was trying to convey is that I do not think all animals are for eating.
Yeah,.....only the ones you can catch. ;^)

I find it hard to believe that these little creatures, who have meant so much to us in our lives, exist for a mere moment never to appear again. My cousin gave us her 10 year old black lab because he was being left home alone all day long. We took him in and my 3 kids came to love that dog.
Fast-forward 3 years. Jake is now 13 years old and needs to be put down for health reasons. I didn't tell the kids, who were 11, 7, and 5 at the time. I just took him with me one day and he didn't come home. I went in the Dr.'s office with him and was there with him while he got the blue juice. I can't remember a time I've cried so much, but then I'm a baby.
My father-in-law gave me some good advice. He said when the kids ask if Jake will be in Heaven to tell them that God will have everything we need in Heaven. If He deems Jake is needed, then he will be in Heaven, the New Earth wherever.

I am also a carnivore, but I recognize that hunger is not something that we should expect in Heaven/New Earth. It is a sign of a lack, a deprivation, a want. It is also something of a drive found in our flawed human bodies which I would not expect to have once I have been perfected.
So, while we are here, eat, drink, and be merry.
