Denver just had a very serious blizzard. Don't you think the pope may be ultimately responsible? America wants to know.

The tag line on #22 referenced the late and unlamented Rachel Corrie who lost her personal fight with an Israeli bulldozer when she improvidently imagined her opinion might count and that Ariel Sharon might interrupt the administration of justice to become a Marxist stooge like she was. Unintentional and therefore a mistake but only as to the confusing tag line.

It was sarcasm. UR blames the Pope for everything and not acting hence since the blizzard here is obviously Chaputs' fault he is now in hiding ignoring the problem and avoiding responsibility.

Generally speaking, even a rodent has the intelligence to know to get out of the path of a moving bulldozer. I wonder if surprise was the last thing that went through her brain (OK - maybe the dozer tread was - but I'm not sure of the specifics of the application of chlorine to that gene pool).

He's not responsible for the blizzard in Denver. But he's responsible for keeping Adamec in office, just as he supports Saddam. This is a pope with very little sympathy for the powerless who suffer under tyrants. He defends authority, even when it is morally illegitimate.

I don't blame the Pope for everything--just for what he has responsibility for. It is public record he has shown no interest in the plight of sexually abused teens. After twenty-five years in office, he still has made no move to reform the gay seminaries here and abroad. He has not fired corrupt bishops like Ademec. He gives red hats to heretics like Kasper and canonizes men who are unsaintly. He seems to like praying for peace with witchdoctors and supporting tyrants like Saddam. He does nothing to stem the spread of disbelief in central dogmas of Catholicism such as faith in the Real Presence. He has allowed disrespect for the Blessed Sacrament to become institutionalized and to flourish. I have a lot of problems with such a pope.

There is something similar going on here in Dallas.

Wow, talk about ironic -- and good timing. Check out this article today:

You forgot to mention that he excommunicated Marcel and declared SSPX in schism.

Did he have anything to do with the copter crash that killed sixteen heroes?

I gotta agree. Isn't it a scandal the way he hasn't fired Chaput a whole two days after the blizzard?

That, according to the usual, ummm, logic, proves that JP II is a secret agent favoring blizzards. I heard that he got involved in a snowball fight on the side of some pagan kids as though they were actual humans or something.

Ohhh, the scandal, the ongoing scandal!!!! When will i-it ever end? When will it eeeevvvvverrrr end?

Bear in mind now that I would burn Adamec at the same stake as Saddam and make it a doubleheader. But I'm not pope and making such decisions is why they pay JP II the big money.

No, no, Chaput is getting promoted to Boston. If he can bring the blizzard maker with him, they can keep the offensive wing of the Boston Archdiocese's priests busy doing something worthwhile like shoveling snow which might keep them out of trouble.

Since you mention it, yes, JnPII opposed Archbishop Lefebvre and the Econe he founded, not for apostasy, not for corruption, not because the archbishop or the seminary had done anything improper or taught anything unCatholic, but because traditional Catholicism was inconsistent with his New Religion. Meanwhile he invites heathens to pray for peace to the Great Thumb and voodoo priests to slaughter chickens on monastery altars.

You would burn Adamec at the same stake as Saddam, yet you give the Pope a pass on both. When was the last time this Pope said anything aboout the victims of these men, the hundreds of teenage boys whose lives were ruined by this bishop's coverups, or the 250,000 "disappeared" ascribed by Amnesty International to Saddam?

Opposed Marcel, opposed?????? That puts old Marcel on a rather high plane, doesn't it? Struggling away, valiantly fighting Jesus Christ's Vicar on earth, like Roland dying in the mountains while protecting those similarly deluded, right?

Wrong. JP II excommunicated Marcel and those whom he illicitly consecrated as bishops in a power grab in direct disobedience and declared SSPX schismatic and, of course, those mired in the schism prefer to believe otherwise and need some rationalization which is where you come in. Yours is the war song of every schismatic group in history. Pathetic lapel-grabbing, attention-seeking fantasies.

You blame JP II for anything and everything.

Will he cause next week's Iraqi sandstorms?

Is he behind the new mystery pneumonia? Its that gerrm warfare aimed at "traditional" schismatics?

Does he know the actual whereabouts of Amelia Earhart and Judge Crater?

Is JP II suppressing knowledge of the fabled magic carburetor which would allow cars to do 5000 miles on 10 gallons of gasoline because the patent was bought up by a Vatican run corporation?

Does JP II know the location of the Lost Dutchman Mine in New Mexico's Superstition Mountains? Is he keeping it to himself?

No, I don't say the Pope is to blame "for everything." He is just responsible for doing his job, which is primarily to protect what has been handed-down to him in the deposit of faith. This he does not do.
