"If animals are not sinful, then why do they die?"

1 Corinthians 15
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Last I checked, animals aren't in need of a Savior -so it's an irrelevant question.

I can't imagine this, but perhaps they weren't meant to live forever? But, since the bible doesn't specifically speak to this, I don't know why you really want to know.

I don't know that, but I can imagine in some of the communities the public school ~is~ the Christian School.

Jess, I read these kinds of things, and I wonder which words I'm missing that I'm supposed to disagree with. I wouldn't argue with anything Spurgeon says here, really. I know I look at the election differently than he does, but sometimes I want to say....so what.

I heard once that Spurgeon considered WESLEY (of all people) one of the leading candidates to be an apostle if apostles were selected for Wesley's age. (The other candidate was.....Whitfield...of course.)

It's such a gracious statement. I don't know if it's true. Maybe DrJ knows. (Yo, SteveJ....?????)

You appear to think that babies are not born with sin.

But, original sin is passed down clearly in Scripture. You don't believe this.

He is trying to set up an argument against original sin that is unrelated to the issue, that is why he did it....:)

Thanks for the encouragement. Actually I think I might have blown a fuse on post #346, but I just can't handle it when people tell me I'm saying something that they know I didn't say or when they attribute improper motives to legitimate questions.

or when they just absolutely refuse to answer the simplest of questions

Since I am, in your opinion, a "bird" I think it best I fly this thread. There are bigger fish to fry. At any rate, I think this thread has run its course.

Well it looked like to me that he is saying both that there are the Elect in Christ and yet there is a call going out to the rest of mankind to come to Christ. All who wish to come and believe upon the Son are welcome. Certainly there are bible verses that support both the views of the Arminians here and the Calvinists. They don't support the view that all mankind, expecially unbelievers are going to be saved, which I don't think either side believes anyway.

Can't verify one way or the other. If accurate, I'd examine the wider context :-)

Perhaps the message parallels the fact that though Israel were the elect, still it was incumbent upon them to lead the rest of the nations to belief in God. You have the elect but you also have the gentiles who could convert. The offer was out there. Just a thought.

The doctrine was invented by Augustine and is nowhere taught in Scripture. If it were I would believe it. It isn't.

Genesis 12

1Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

" I agree with Hank. Jesus is God in the flesh. "

I am not sure you really do agree with Hank

Hank do you believe the Father was in heaven while Jesus was on earth (one God appearing in different presentations) or do you believe that God is a tri part being and he can and was present here on earth at the same time He was in heaven

You do not use the word trinity do you believe that God the Father was Jesus in the flesh?

The problem Marlowe is you would rather believe what you want to believe. You want to fashion a god for your own liking. You do not like the God of the bible. How dare you tell me to get the log out of my eye when you post insults like this.

I will tell you how I dare do that PM. I posted many scriptures for you. We are told it is for doctrine , teaching and reproof..and you still refuse it. You want to make a god that meets your expectations rather than the one that revealed Himself to us in His word

You show me some scripture where God says it is every man for himself .

Again I did not say that God does not have a plan that includes every one of us. He does. That plan, however, does not include actually authoring the evil that happens.

How can God have a plan for anything as long as everything is subject to the approval of men..men are god not God , they have the final say .........pssssssssss ask Pharoh if that is so

I once had the quote from Spurgeopn on Wesley.

It proves that by and large Calvinists are more gracious than Weleyans seeing Wesley waited till his Calvinist friend (Whitefield ) was gone to break a promise to him and publish the teaching .

Deception..and lies ..not a good foundation

That is a lie and you know it.

You show me some scripture where God says it is every man for himself .

That is not what I think and you know it. Again you are lying.

Is your God somehow Glorified by your misrepresentations of my positions?
