Man, what kind of soccer do they play up there in Colorado? We had repeated injuries in our league ... broken arms and legs, bloody noses, sprained ankles/knees and countless concusions. I was the "lucky" recipient of one of our teams concusions. I have no memory of that night except for waking up in a CT scanner. Just a couple of weeks before that, I was involved in a 3 man collision that left our keeper out cold for about 1/2 a minute.

I don't mean to sound insensitive and am always concerned for you health al. I keep a world cup soccer game on video tape right next to my bed so that when I'm having trouble sleeping I pop right in. Works everytime. :-)

I'd have to smoke too. To overcome the excitement. :-) Those 1-0 games with no board-checking are too much for me to handle.

Any person who could watch a 4 hour Baseball game in the hopes of seeing 3 1/2 minutes of action has no idea of what "boring" is.

Have you ever seen "little leaguers" in action? They seem to have the idea baseball is the act of spitting and rubbing dirt onto their crotch. Why is that?

That's why I have to wait and watch the highlights on ESPN. :-)

I dunno. They seem to manage without my noticing. :-)

It's abhorrent, but it needs to be brought up. I would expect it to be swatted away. But the insurance company requires it.

It's not all black and white. The Church and Insurance Companies have made "non disclosure" settlements for many years.

None of us knows all the reasons why the RCC would use this tactic but I suspect I suspect it is a "pressure" attempt. "Accept our 'final' offer or get nothing."

If that fails, hold out the prospect of a $20,000 limit based on Massachusetts law for "malpractice" settlements with Charitable Organizations.

Must be one of the recent WC French games, eh? ;o)

No one ever said soccer on TV is exiting. With the exception of the USA v. Germany game during the last WC, it's not all that spectacular to watch on the tube. But then again, if the NFL didn't have commercials, all that down time between those 4 - 5 second plays would make for some pretty boring TV.

USA-Germany? I must have missed it. Don't start bad-mouthing the NFL. That's un-american. Soccer on the other hand is international. People in Iran and Iraq love it. :-)

There is a reason why people in poor countries like soccer. It is the same reason why inner city youth play basketball instead of hockey.

It is reasonably cheap to play.

All you need is some facsimile of a sphere to kick around.

Now to play true American football, you need a ball. And special pads. And special pants. And a helmet. And a field. With lights. And cheerleaders. And a marching band. And 50/50 tickets. And pop and pizza and hot dogs and italian sausages. And bleachers. and and and

You left out the 6 pack of beer.

Well, that's how I like to play! ;o)

An Appeals Court judge on Tuesday rejected a request by the Boston archdiocese to intervene in nearly 500 clergy sex abuse lawsuits before they go to trial.

Good!

Soccer is fun.

Maybe fun to play, but watching it is like watching paint dry.

I suppose its different if your kids are playing.

Is "soccer" the Texan word for "rugby"? ;o)
