Yes, but now I'm reconsidering. I've seen Mr. Piltdown, and he's a fairly intimidating fellow...
To: RadioAstronomer
Yes, there is such a thing, I'm happy to report after long hours of careful observation ;)
To: Scully
>PH was too slow! ;)
Not to worry; he has "Plato the Platypus" to keep him company, just as medved has "Splifford" the ASCII bat.
To: RadioAstronomer, Scully
Trust me, it's been worse at times. Indeed.
Nah!
How can you love each other if you never fight?
To: general_re
You have freep mail! :)
To: Piltdown_Woman
Thank you, but I must admit to being happily preoccupied with a wonderful testosterone-rich fellow scientist. Wow, you too? Errr, ummm, I mean, hey, that's great ;)
(wipes brow) THAT was a close one - nice, smooth recovery ;)
To: Nebullis
How can you love each other if you never fight? Are you implying Scully and I fight? ;)
To: RadioAstronomer
Are you implying Scully and I fight? ;) Er...no, just putting in a good word for the tussling on the threads.
I had the feeling everyone was about to hold hands and sing 'kum-bay-ya'.

I had the feeling everyone was about to hold hands and sing 'kum-bay-ya'.ROFL! Now that would be a miracle! It might have turned me to the other side. LOL!!!

Yes, there is such a thing, I'm happy to report after long hours of careful observation ;)Sigh! :)
To: RadioAstronomer
It might have turned me to the other side. LOL!!!No-No! Don't go! It's dark on the other side! (But you're an astronom...never mind) ;)
To: Nebullis; RadioAstronomer

To: RadioAstronomer
But you must admit, we have gotten into one or two rather heated discussions... :)

LOL indeed! I am off for the night too. :) Back to work for me.
To: Piltdown_Woman; RadioAstronomer
Zzzzzz - see you both on the dark side ;)

Me: "Today, astronomers can peacefully discuss their ideas,
generally free of strident opponents."
You do ignore Medved's posts, don't you?
I had him in mind when I used the word "generally." And yes, I do ignore his posts -- and those of a few others too. Which explans my lack of doing anything but lurking the past few days.
To: general_re
But my point is simple - it doesn't matter, as long as we are outside looking in. And we always will be, as long as the media and the fence-sitters think our political movement is comprised of people like medved, g3k, f.christian, etc. I wouldn't want to join such a movement. No one would. And that's how the media love to portray us.
So I think these threads are vital for exposing the fringe players as just that -- fringe players. Only then (and it will take more than playing around on this website) can we hope to start winning elections and affecting the nation.
So I'm not quitting. The war isn't over. It will go on for centuries, probably. Faith vs reason, science vs supernaturalism, call it what you will. I'm gonna stick it out.
