Sorry, frank#2.
Well, nothing to say except this new Pope hasn’t adopted the name “ Petrus Romanus”…..he is of the St Augustine sect, an Augustinian, we shall see.
Martin Luther was an Augustinian.
Quite a thoughtful post, very interesting.
In what way do you suppose it is at all informative to let me know that among the billions of people on Earth, someone supposed he will be a second Francis?
The New York Times praised Hitler too...just saying.
Yes, I know. Hence, “surprisingly well-chosen.” I wouldn’t’ve expected the NYT would recognize the phoniness of Francis’ humility.
The guy doesn’t even know where the coffee creamer is kept in the office kitchen yet. And people are trying to judge what kind of Pope he is going to be? I think it would be fair to give the guy a little while in office to get his bearings.
For those wondering what an Augustinian is.
“Luther taught that justification and, consequently, salvation and eternal life, is not earned by any human acts or intents or merit; rather, they are received only as the free gift of God’s grace through the believer’s faith in Jesus Christ.
Luther’s theology challenged the authority and office of the pope and bishops by teaching that the Bible is the only source of divinely revealed knowledge on the Gospel,[6] and opposed sacerdotalism by considering all baptized Christians to be a holy priesthood.[7] Those who identify with these, as well as Luther’s wider teachings, are called Lutherans, although Luther insisted on Christian or Evangelical (German: evangelisch), as the only acceptable names for individuals who professed Christ….”

I rarely cite Wiki, a political ( left wing) encyclopedia.
Thank you for this well thought out post.
Very thoughtful honest post. Giving someone who is new on the job the benefit of the doubt and hoping for the best is the gracious thing to do.
enough with this Pope thing already
I loved the Pope’s homily this morning.
😂👍
One thing I have observed already is that he seems more Christ-centric than the communist Pope was.
RERUM NOVARUM. ENCYCLICAL OF POPE LEO XIII (Pope Leo XIV’s predecessor) ON CAPITAL AND LABOR enunciated late 19th-century Roman Catholic positions on social justice, especially in relation to the problems created by the C 1760 Industrial Revolution; it emphasized the church’s right to make pronouncements on social issues as they related to moral questions.
If you don’t like it, don’t read it. No one is twisting your arm. Scroll past.
Does any Pope have an auto-pen ?
He was Franky’z hand picked man to choose bishops.
Seems like he will be another Marxist.
I hope he’s saved.
I hope he’s not gay.
