eagle gnome can’t name one Catholic who claims the disciples were celebrating the Tridentine Mass.

Once again....from your anti-roman catholic pope article...

“I promise to keep inviolate the discipline and the liturgy of the Church as I have found them and as they were transmitted by my holy Predecessors,”

So there it is folks.....ebbtide, aka OMCET, admits Roman Catholicism is wrong in it's claim that what they do was handed down from the Apostles in an unbroken chain.

Attaboy, OMCET.....you've just proven what many of us have been saying about Rome's claims all along.

Now, this leads to the next logical question you will not be able to answer as you've already destroyed your position.

If Rome's claim of an unbroken chain going back to the original pope is false as you say.....what's the big deal over the language and style of the Mass??

I gotta hand it to you OMCET.....you're a far better Reformer than the originals were.

And once again.....

The TLM has either been handed down by the prior popes, which would go all the way back to Peter, or it doesn't.

You can't have it both ways. Well,....

So if this doesn't originate with the Apostles, then whatever form the Mass is conducted in really doesn't matter.

I’m glad you’re doing self introspection. It’ll do you good.

Bro, you’ve been exposed so much as the most rabid anti-roman Catholic since Luther. And it’s not even close.

What does the Bible say about Latin Mass?

Same thing it says about “sola scriptura”:

Nothing, nada, zip...

He’s made it clear the TLM wasn’t handed down from the Apostles. Yet, you’d think the way he’s carrying on it was. A frustrated dude yelling at clouds.

I’m not Catholic, can someone explain to me why the Traditional Latin Mass cause such mass hysteria with the left.

I see that you have received a few replies, some not particularly informative and one particularly silly.

So I will reply as I have in the past: That liturgy which we call the "Traditional Latin Mass" (or the Roman Missal of 1962) more accurately presents Catholic belief and doctrine than does the more recent liturgy. This is particularly true regarding the sacrificial nature of the Mass, and regarding the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

There are elements within the Church who do not hold the Catholic belief regarding the Mass as a true sacrifice, nor do they hold the Catholic belief regarding the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Therefore, they hate the "Traditional Latin Mass" because it stands in testimony against their non-Catholic beliefs.

We've been told on these forums that the Mass is not a sacrifice...yet you are saying it is. How would you account for the difference?

And what the heck do protestants care about how Catholics worship God in the One, True Church?

You guys seem awfully interested in something you claim to hate but are somehow still attracted to it.

I haven’t seen either of you complaining about how muslims or jews perform their “worship”.

What’s up with that? Jealousy?

I don’t believe that you have even the slightest interest in truly discussing this matter.

May God abundantly bless you.

No. I am curious in the differences. Not wanting to debate as you know my position on this.
