Not feminine enough? Please, no more lisping fruity priests.
Well, there is more than one metaphor for the Body of Christ in the Bible. Are Roman Catholics the only ones who contemplate the Church as the Bride of Christ?
I believe they are. Christ said about Peter, “You are my rock, and upon this rock I will build my church.” The rock was Peter’s faith. Peter knew Christ is the Father. The church is built on the simple knowledge that Christ and the Father are one.
That’s news to me. Reminds me of the time I went with a friend to a luncheon of Christian attorneys. We discussed end of life issues, and for some reason I mentioned the redemptive value of suffering. Conversation kind of stopped dead. I did not realize that non-Catholics did not consider there to be a redemptive value to suffering. Oh well, live and learn. ☺️
