But what does father Guido Sarducci think? He's still trying to find the Pope in the Pizza.

It’s all about cultural Marxism.
It is endemic in the New World we have today.

Father Spadaro wants to rewrite the Bible, huh?! Well, if he does that, God will remove his name from the lamb’s book of life.

All this comes from independent morality, the idea that there is some sort of objective moral code apart from G-d's decrees. And yes, this includes "natural law."
"Thus saith the L-rd." No other words are necessary.

Is Father Spadaro a brother to Father Guido Sarducci?
To: fishtank
That thought occurred to me as well.

Yep.
The Vatican teaches that they supersede the Bible.
By the way, to ebb tide: you really can’t use the Bible to hold the pope or the Vatican to a higher standard.
Why?
Because you all DON’T believe that the Bible is The Higher Standard.

Ouch.
That then means that the Catholic hierarchy must consider itself the higher standard.
And if they are the higher standard, then whatever they do is fine. They can never condemn themselves.

False religions always create a false higher authority than the Bible.
Like:
The Talmud
The Quran
The Book of Mormon
Vatican traditions

As a ex-Catholic Lutheran, I trust the words of Martin Luther - far more than anything coming out of the Vatican today.
