I don’t know about “most people”. Unless you can show me a scientific survey of Evangelicals who say they believe this, your statement is anecdotal.
But be that as it may, I don’t see the relationship between this particular belief in the rapture and the left wing drift mentioned in this article. People can be wrong about eschatology without compromising their moral stance.
Teachings about abortion, homosexuality and gender identity ( all left wing issues ) are clear enough in the Bible without having to refer to eschatological differences.
How do you know this for a fact?
It's a future event. How can you state definitively that it is not true?
