The school board members claimed they were concerned about the high number of student absenteeism and the perceived impracticality of managing a large number of opt-outs. In addition, the school board purportedly believed that allowing students to opt out would expose other students and families to “social stigma” if they felt the LGBT-themed books represented their lifestyle.
So, the school board is saying that a growing majority of parents keeping their kids out of school is stigmatizing the remaining few, so therefore we must force 100% attendance?
Plus, processing all those opt-out requests is a burden on them?

I live in MoCo, am involved in a parenting group and have seen the books they want in schools.
THEY ARE PORNOGRAPHIC!!! A drawing of one guy’s mouth on another guys body part is not acceptable, AT ALL!!!!
During those lessons, I might slip in some ear buds, whip out my phone and play or watch something, maybe listen to music. If it’s not a graduation requirement, I’d be content to fail that class.
I might also instruct my kid to have a, “bathroom emergency” and flee the class.
So then other parents couldn’t opt out on religious grounds from this (if it were true) and passed by the states:

Your Honor, if a student, or group of students openly express a disapproval in the class of the LGBT lifestyle as being against their faith and a danger to society, would that be acceptable? If their grades suffer, would the teacher be liable in a discrimination suit?
I suspect this will be the next step since the judge ordered tolerance of alternate viewpoints.

I am very aware of public schools…….I was one of the first to initiate against the introduction of a Sex Ed curriculum in my child’s school 30 plus years ago…
……the result was an ‘Abstinence Only’ curriculum instead
Since then there are good charter, private and Christian schools available
Time to start cutting the school board’s funding and jobs.
Well, there you go.. Our nation desperately needs to get the federal government out of the schools....
