If Jesus didn’t do what God wanted Him to do - that would seem to me to make Jesus a sinner. So if this guy believes that - he isn’t a Christian.

That said, there are several (many?) times in the Bible where the human side of Jesus is shown. When He tells His mom that the time is not right for Him to perform His first miracle, but He does it anyway. I love that one. Even Jesus’ mom had to give him a little push to get Him moving (but she doesn’t nag Him about it). And His wish to be spared from the cross. But He does so anyway. Willingly.
