The universal Church, Holy Mother Church, is not defined by the men that lead it at any point in time. If men lead her who are horrific in nature, the contrast between them and the spotless Bride of Christ could not be more stark. At least for those who have eyes to see. This periodically leads to a cleansing, not infrequently brought about by the just demands of the ordinary faithful, peacefully brought forward, diligently pursued.
It's not defined by God, that's for sure, so the only source is men.
If God defined it, show me from His word where that is found.

The LEADERSHIP should be initiating that.

Besides, in Revelation 2 & 3 Jesus warns churches of judgment if they do not deal with sin in their midst and you expect us to believe that God would not do the same to Roman Catholicism???? That He would not only let it go for 2,000 or so years, but that He would actually *protect* Roman Catholicism in spite of their blatant disobedience to His commands and their flagrant, clearly unrepentant sins of immorality and corruption in the clergy?
Guess what? It's not God protecting Catholicism.

The apostasy is an equal opportunity infiltration. This is why we see its'. leaven in within the RCC, Orthodox, Anglican, and Evangelical Protestant. It's far better that we see it and do something about it than try to hide our eyes from it.

It’s easy to say anything, especially speaking in broad generalities. Try going to a parish and meeting an actual priest.

The Seventh day Adventist got the Sabbath from the Seventh day Baptists. I happen to believe God raised the Adventist church as a last day message for a soon to be destroyed world. The Adventist Church is pure protestant and stands on the shoulders of the great Protestant churches and reformers who came before us and who will be in heaven.
And the Adventist church, under God’s guidance has taken the best from the Protestant churches...righteousness by faith alone from Luther, baptism by immersion only, holy living like the Methodists, the Sabbath from the Seventh day Baptists....of course all based on scripture.
Our unique doctrine is the pre advent judgement which I believe is Biblical, I have studied it for years.
Today, my friend whom I have known for over 60 years and who wanted nothing to do with the Sabbath or Adventists...attended his first Sabbath service at an Adventist church and said he was beyond blessed. I have been going over the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation with him.....which show us who the great counterfeit is , and what will happen with unity when the world is brought to it’s knees.
He saw it and said it cannot be denied. Scripture tells us who this great false church ....

Have you ever read the Book of Judges? Did Israel cease to be Israel because of her wicked leaders? Scripture even records that Caiaphas (!!!) prophesied, not because he was morally upright (he wasn't), but because of his divinely-instituted office.
(NB that that does not mean that the wickedness is not punished, then or now. But the "gifts and calling of God are without repentance" [Romans 11:29])
