God’s Word is truly amazing and the prophecy of Book of Revelation is no exception.

Revelation is so powerful in its prophecy that even before these events take place, people are deceived by, for instance, the White Horse, which some today think is Jesus Christ, EXACTLY the deception this false Christ and man of sin will perpetuate. Amazing.

I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern California, where my first Notre Dame game was the 1966 thorough debacle, 51-0, by the immortal Coley O'Brien--so yes, I always expect that picture and whatever other depredations they can manage.

And Jesus (Rev. 19:11) and we (Rev. 19:14) WILL be riding white horses as well, which Satan, the deceiver, knows all too well.

But Satan is a counterfeiter, so he takes part of the truth of scripture - “behold a white horse and he that sat upon it him is Faithful and true” (Rev. 19:11) - and couples it with a lie - the False Christ on another white horse (Rev. 6:1) - (half truth + half lie = all lie) just as he did with Jesus in the wilderness.

Sometimes it takes the discernment of the Holy Spirit to know whether it is a deception. A prophet once said about the end times we are coming to, “Know God’s Word because the time is soon coming when you will need to know God’s Word.”

I say, “Amen” to that.

I have to say that I am reminded of Disney’s treatment of the “Night On Bald Mountain”, a Rimsky-Korsakov arrangement of Mussorgsky’s original work, in Disney’s Fantasia. I know it’s not an accurate comparison between the two, but it does remind me of it. And it does end well, after all. I can’t help but wonder if the Book of Revelation was the inspiration… One of my favorite movies.

I dare say that this amazing book, the Book of Revelation, is so poignant, that just like when it actually happens (we’ll be gone and in Heaven when this happens), so now it probably takes the discernment of the Holy Spirit to know that the guy on the white horse with the bow in Rev. 6:2 is the false Christ.
