Americans no longer have the stomach for deadly overseas wars to protect the petrodollar from Hussein’s “oil for food” program or Ghaddafi’s gold standard for Africa. We won’t go to war with Russia to make them trade oil for dollars exclusively, so that’s it for the petrodollar before long.
We don’t any longer have the stomach for the domestic sacrifice and Middle East troublemaking in general which was necessary to jack oil from $20/bbl to $140/bbl and give the Saudis a giant payoff on their investment in 9/11. If we tried the 9/11 scam again the Russians would be the biggest winners in the oil game.
We also don’t give a rat’s ass about the EU and we don’t see NATO in the same light as we did during the Cold War.
We have a potato for POTUS at the moment but with the serious prospect of Trump returning in 2025.
All those factors added together were a green light for Putin to make his long-desired move on Ukraine during the second year of the potato’s term. He intends to have Ukraine pacified before Trump comes back, and he’s fighting a war of attrition with NATO/CIA which he believes he can’t lose if he doesn’t lose his nerve.
Russia won’t save us from drag-queen story hour in the local school. That’s YOUR job.
