There are religious reasons that a girl may not be a priest. Overwhelming reasons.
Altar boys are the most significant source of priests.
Anything that places a stumbling block in the path of a boy, interfering with his development into a strong, holy priest, is a very, very bad thing indeed.
Altar girls drive altar boys away in droves, just as the heresy of VatII drives the faithful out of the pews. In fact, that is the very reason that the heretic VatII Church is so insistent on forcing altar girls on us.

BTW, I was an alter errr, altar boy over 70 years ago, but I still see an altar every week and I misspelled it.
