In a mens bible study a couple of years ago I met a guy that used to be Catholic. He told me he never even owned a bible until he started to attend our church.....I was a little stunned by that.

It is inscribed, with skull and crossbones, in my grandmother’s Catholic Bible. Apparently the quote is from James somewhere.

Just out of curiosity if you wouldn’t mind sharing....how do you feel about that now?
Interesting question. I joined Campus Life at my secular HS when I was a Freshman and was saved that summer in Catalina on a retreat.
I think that factoid sort of speaks for itself. There was never any ‘justified by faith alone’ doctrine taught in school. There were varieties of grace, for example. Varieties of sin (venal and mortal). There were days of obligation. Fruits of the Holy Spirit. Nine first-Friday masses.
In a word, you had to earn your way to Heaven, and it just wasn’t the Biblical case. Worse, I suspect the Catholic Church knows this.
However, their work with Psychology and their doctrine on Satan is standout. They are very good in those areas.
