Marxism started with Marx, then was advanced by Herbert Marcuse and Max Horkheimer via Critical Theory, which morphed into Critical Race Theory, and Noel Ignatiev is one of the latest iterations in promoting Marxism.
One can start at Wikipedia even and look at the early lives of these, what led them to go the route they did, and so on.
