As I examine each picture I get an initial impression, positive, neutral, or negative. Then I examine the details. What do I like? What do I dislike? Are these images the way I imagine the scriptural characters? Are these even real people as they are depicted? I also look at the background details.
This is all part of my analytical personality. Sometimes the Holy Spirit nudges me and I get fresh insight. That’s how I felt about Grotzius.
The RuthGB intro was tooooooooooo much. LOL Am trying to catch up on your posts, I’ve been subbing for 8 days in a Christian school for a teacher in quarantine. It has been a little taxing but a blessing to be able to teach about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit throughout the curriculum (without a mask!!!!)
I told my wife both about you personally and about your teaching. Glad you’re finding it rewarding!
My apology! Was sure we’d had Goltzius previously, but we had not.
“My apology! Was sure wed had Goltzius previously, but we had not.”
No apology necessary. There were several etchings in each of the previous threads. I didn’t recognize Goltzius’ style. He seemed to be very realistic in his depiction of Ruth and Naomi and Orpah, like he was using women in his neighborhood for his models.
