But it is also how things should be. I am annoyed by the idea the governor has such power, but if he does, it should be for short terms, and then the legislature should be called to ratify or deny the orders.
In Virginia, our entire existence apparently is at the whim of our governor, who only has to declare an “emergency”.
ANd we know what that means, because in January, he declared an “emergency” which was “people are coming to protest our legislation”, and with that declaration, he was then able to take away people’s right to assemble, and people’s right to bear arms, and courts backed him up.

Right she wanted 70 days, she will not let that go and if she gets another month every resteraunt will be bankrupt. I caught some of her remarks she has no sympathy for the dying businesses, none. She is more worried about it being unfair to her base in Detroit if she loosens it up at all for the rest of the State. It is absolutely ridiculous that the UP is locked down. In Louisiana, our governor is legally bound by an exclusion clause in the emergency powers law. So far, the courts have remained supine, but the legislature is organizing to fight back, I think. The main pushback has been that Pentecostal preacher in Baton Rouge.

A state legislator in Michigan was going downhill really fast from CV19 she had been to her doctor several times he prescribed several different medications nothing was working, she heard Trump during his presser called her doctor he prescribed it immediately THEN because her stupid damn governor put a ban on anyone using it Pharmacy would not fill the prescription. Her husband drove out of state to fill the script brought it home and within hours she was better!! She was very close to being hospitalized couldn’t breath at all and she has stated Trump saved her life, her STUPID governor damn near killed her!!! This legislator is a Dem and has thanked Trump for saving her life!!!
