But . . . but where are all those nineteenth century European materialists (you know how the Left “hates” white Europeans) to laugh at them for their backward beliefs???

This stuff flared up in the ‘70s.

And then it kind of died down again. Problem today is that I don't see any social forces on the horizon that are going to achieve that. Indeed once enough of us die this society is going to go completely off the rails.

Apparently, nuns in Catholic schools turn a lot of people like you away from faith in Jesus Christ.

There is a lot of truth in that. Some of the most radically secular people I know cite a bad Catholic school experience as their reason.

Full disclosure: I attended a Catholic grade school. While the nuns were strict I really don't have any bad memories of them. In fact quite often now when I hear a Christian preacher deliver a sermon the thought will click in my head that "this is exactly what Sister So-And-So told us in the third grade!"

dabbling in the occult is dangerous and can be deadly. Why give Satan any foothold in your life?

Try Christianity instead. We do not worship or “venerate” idols, icons, statues or anything besides the God of the universe who became one of us and died to save you.
