why couldn’t the gay couple have just taken the cake and written put the message themselves on the cake?

How difficult would it be to find a homosexual cake decorator?

“I’m suggesting that the Bible preaches...”

Well, I’m not sure that collection of quotes and concepts makes your point any clearer to me, but it seems like an honest effort on your part to be what you consider a good Christian. So I don’t want to be too critical.

I trust you are wise enough not to misinterpret your references. In particular your quote from Paul to the Corinthians about him being ‘all things to all men’.

That is not, AT ALL, a suggestion for us to be tolerant of deviant sexual or other sinful behavior. His point, for the most part, is that he preached to both old-school Jews who still erroneously believed they had to pay for sin via animal sacrifice, get circumcised and such. And also to the new Christians who correctly understood otherwise. And also preached to gentiles, whom he naturally was trying to convert to be Christians.

He wasn’t simply hanging out with any of those groups just to be friendly and tolerant. He was trying to get them to believe that Christ could and would forgive their sins - IF they repent and strive to sin no more.

At a minimum I hope you don’t believe the ‘all things’ quote to mean Paul tolerated things like gay sex or behaved sinfully himself in order to fit in with ‘all people’. That should be abundantly clear if you read to the end of the chapter.

Regarding ‘jerky lawsuits’ you seem to think make us Christians look like ‘idiot prissies’... I assume you understand that the article in question is, to the contrary, actually about an idiot sissy filing a jerky complaint to force good Christian folk to violate their faith. What the sissy demanded of them was far worse than simply wishing a sinner ‘God speed’, which itself is forbidden by Christ.

Did you read the rest of my post?

They weren't looking for a "gay message" cake. They were looking to create an issue and to sue, hoping to perhaps win compensation for being denied "their rights".

Let me ask a few questions.

Do you understand what Hegelian theory and practice in U.S. politics is all about?

Do you believe former Tea Party candidate Karen Handel’s statements that Karl Rove was dictating/promoting Planned Parenthoood?

Do you know that the Bush administration supported Planned Parenthood for the full eight years, which includes the first years that the selling of dead baby parts was happening?

Do you believe the MSM or fellow FReepers about who was responsible for Charlottesville? (Freepers positively ID’d these guys as former Obama State Dept. employees and CNN reporters... posing as alt Right Trumper nazis)

Do you believe the Westburo Baptist Church people are real or are paid shills like other rent-a-mob orgs?

Why do you believe there aren’t there cases where Christians refuse to bake Mormon, Freemasonic or Muslim wedding cakes?

To “tolerate” is not really a Christian term, btw. (Especially in the church where false teaching is involved.)

The reason for my post is that while Christ tells us to live moderate lives, it does not mean we are to live “conventional” lives... i.e. we are not called to live lives proscribed by American political conventions of twenty years ago about who Christians are. We are, in fact, to love the unlovable, even the Democrats.

Let me know what you understand about how we are the targets for Hegelian conflict, so you can better gauge my response to you.
