As any good parent, our Heavenly Father knows what we need, He simply likes for us to ask.
Thank you for posting.
Because His son, Jesus The Christ, who is our ONLY ticket to the promised land, taught us how, then commanded us to pray to the Father.
Thats why.
Good point. Prayer is not as easy as people think it is. It seems
very hard for liberals to do, let alone can they act on their own promises.
The witchcraft is about bypassing prayer and granting oneself wishes through magic. It examplifies satan’s narcissism and these people without science who yet feel entitled to technology and free degrees.
When all science is exhausted, even Nietchean people will resort to considering alternatives to science, and prayer is the most mentally healthy way , imo.
There are things which cannot be solved but by prayer. The switch from sin to realizing one’s wrongs, through prayer, allows us a communication and what God is all about. His goal on the cross were not meant to be in vain, but to make one realize that once his spiritual sickness was healed, all the faults commited before during the spiritual sickness was raging are obviously of no consequence.
To ask is indeed the beginning of getting the answer, and, frankly, when one is confused, only prayer can work through. Nothing can give answers like prayer when it comes to seeking the right spiritual footing at a time we feel we are thinking horrible things and we do not want to be that person. To become the better person without a role model to imitate other than through prayer and the activity of the Holy Spirit within is the miracle.
The sensation is that nothing then becomes of any great challenge because past and future confusions are handled by the comfort that we are in the best of schools in which to learn and to paint a real life.
I may not belong on this thread but as I understand it, we pray to Gd, we worship Him, not because He needs it, but for us. We need to realize our place and His power and His love, etc. and we need to love and worship our Creator.
And prayer is not begging to Santa Claus for goodies. The most powerful prayers are not for ourselves. When we pray for ourselves we are to pray for understanding of Him and help to do the right things down here on Earth.
And prayer changes me!
Sheesh, I wish it were that easy.
It is. Just remember, needs are not wants. We often conflate the two but God knows the difference.
A while back in the eighties I remember Harold Camping saying that one should not pray for someone’s salvation since the Lord knows who will be saved and who will not. Hypercalvinism?
RE: A while back in the eighties I remember Harold Camping saying that one should not pray for someones salvation since the Lord knows who will be saved and who will not.
Well, Jesus instructed believers to pray for the unsaved in this manner: Ask the Lord of the harvest . . . to send out workers into his harvest field (Luke 10:2).
This prayer concerns the harvest field of evangelism in the world. It is a prayer that people will be saved and God will be glorified.
Why would he do that if He knows who will be saved and who will not?
We should pray for the unsaved because, the truth is, its not possible for us mere mortals to know who Gods elect are before they become saved (think of Saul of Tarsus).
Spurgeon once quipped that it would be nice if the elect had a big E stamped on their back, but, of course, they do not.
I was not a Harold Camping fan. I just found some of his later stuff on Family Radio to be a bit “off”. Including that the “Church Age” was over, and there was no further use for evangelization. Everyone retreat to their “spiritual bomb shelter”, as I call it. Definitely out there.
Good thread.
Thanks for posting it.
Asking creates an awareness of our dependency on Him and what He does for us, instead of us just developing an entitlement mentality and then whining when we don’t get what we want.
Well said ...
Thank Him for being able to do the first item ...
Its still the 1st thing.
Lord, please help me to get there in time.
This wasn’t a caucus thread so there is no *I may not belong here....* to consider.
Thanks for the insight.
