Could understand one service but several times a week? Leave these people alone. Some of them trying to get their lives back on track and this is hindering them. For real I have known some of them who could not be at a job because they had to go to the shelter’s required religious services. They told me they’d rather live in a tent city and pay their bills off than deal with this crap.
I don't know what you mean by "service" but my experience working in downtown missions is that you have to listen to a sermon before you eat. I see nothing wrong with that for every meal.
I know a guy who went through Teen Challenge and he filled me in about the Rescue Mission and the people who frequented it.
He said most of them were not interested in improving themselves. They wanted a warm place to stay and free food while they did their drinking and drugs.
They were just users of anything they could. Drugs, alcohol, people......
