You never answered the question; and now you have switched you accusations of schismatic to heresy.
So it appears you did not know the difference between the two until just now.
As a Catholic who grew up with the Latin Mass I don’t recall being taught to ‘worship’ her. Honor, yes. If God made her special, shouldn’t we consider her so?
That would be you who has "never answered the question".
What part of a blend of cause and effect do you not understand? :^')
It appears to me that you are desperate.
I’m sure you weren’t taught it’s worship as that would go against the Bible. Roman Catholics have to change the terms to make it ok. If you’re kneeling before idols of Mary,’praying to her, relying upon her for answered prayers and salvation you’re worshipping her.
So anyone who "depends on Mary for their salvation" and knows what they're talling about -- taking your word that there's really someone out there who does that -- can only mean that they depend on God through Mary, because that's the only way Mary ever does anything.
Y'all act like Mary lives in Cleveland or something. No: she lives forever in heaven, or Jesus just wasted his time on earth. If I ask someone on earth for something sinful, or to commit a sin for me or with me, they very well might. The saints in heaven never would and never can.
Is heaven real to you at all? Is it home, or just an abstraction to which you pay occasional lip service?
I know we have no direction to pray to anyone other than God in the New Testament.
So anyone who "depends on Mary for their salvation" and knows what they're talling about -- taking your word that there's really someone out there who does that -- can only mean that they depend on God through Mary, because that's the only way Mary ever does anything.
O immaculate Virgin, we are under thy protection, and therefore we have recourse, to thee alone, and we beseech thee to prevent thy beloved Son, who is irritated by our sins, from abandoning us to the power of the devil... Thou (Mary) art my only hope. . . . Lady in heaven, we have but one advocate, and that is thyself, and thou alone art truly loving and solicitous for our salvation ... My Queen and my Advocate with thy Son, whom I dare not approach. Alphonsus de Liguori, The Glories of Mary, Burns and Oates, Ld., 1868, pp. 115, 249
According to Eadmer (A.D. 10601124), an English monk and student of Anselm, sometimes salvation is quicker if we remember Mary's name then if we invoked the name of the Lord Jesus...[who] does not at once, answer anyone who invokes him, but only does so after just judgment. But if the name of his mother Mary is invoked, her merits intercede so that he is answered even if the merits of him who invoked her do not deserve it. Through her the elements are renewed, the netherworld is healed, the demons are trodden underfoot, men are saved and angels are restored. Andrew Taylor, Three medieval manuscripts and their readers, University of Pennsylvania press; page 173
Whatever Roman Catholicism teaches about Mary is to be questioned. Sadly, much of it is in error.
Yes...it is very real and I look forward to being there one day....based on faith in only Jesus and His promises.
..”Mary would be appalled at how Roman Catholicism worships her”..
True ...and Jesus wouldn’t be too happy some think beads hold some sort of magical prayer power...even Voo Doo priests think that way.
...” they depend on God ...”through Mary”.. because that’s the only way Mary ever does anything”....
Do you realize what your statement really is saying? Mary has no power here on earth.
God made it very clear and with certainty......”there is ONE mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”...1 Timothy 2:5
Furthermore....Jesus said....” No one comes to the Father except through me.”...John14:6
Don’t waste your time with that poster. He trolls Catholic threads looking to instigate arguments about Mary. I tried having a reasonable conversation about this on another thread but all he wants to do is prove that Catholics are heretics for praying to Mary.
Meh...I know a no-win situation when I see one and no one can tell me what I believe. In a world full of real heretics and evil how can anyone find fault with the rosary??
