I have no idea where you’re coming or going. You’re all over the place. Are you a Romam Catholic?

I suggest you read the Word in context so you can understand it....or perhaps stick with physics and mathematics.

43“Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.” 44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. 45All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered, 47“Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?” 48And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.

If "so-called" religious leaders do NOT give you the chapter and verse, or link you to their source,
so you can verify what they say (And DO CHECK their sources),
then DO NOT TRUST THEM !

Join the Catholic Church!

Why?

I didn't see the article specify what church to attend, except that it be Bible believing and teaching.

Seventh: Go on FreeRepublic and obsessively attack Catholics. blah, blah, blah,.....

And of course, that WASN'T mentioned on the list of things to do, but rather was brought up first by a Catholic.

It goes to show what a false accusation and false portrayal that is of Christians that you have made.

Get in fights on the Internet.

So you've become a Catholic. What should you do?

And would you like it if we posted that about Catholics?

Or something like, *Get ion the internet and claim all non-Catholics are heretics and will go to hell unless they become a Catholic*?

I sure hope you don't think that there aren't CATHOLICS who fit that bill of starting fights on the internet.

1. Make sure you are a new Christian. You begin the process of becoming a Christian when you acknowledge your complete depravity and hopelessness without Christ. If you believe you are, in any way even slight, that you deserve or merit Salvation, you are not there. If you even believe that you can attain right standing before God by repeating a prayer that someone gave you, you are not ready. BEING a Christian is a life-long process.

You know what, though?

Errors in theology WILL get corrected out. God can take care of that and will.

I don’t think Cornelius had the remission of his sins before his baptism, do you? The Holy Spirit falling on that group didn’t give them remission of sins, either, did it?

Yes and yes.

Nope, I’m still saying, just like Peter did, that baptism was for the remission of sins. Peter said it. I believe it. Do you?

Peter said this.

1 Peter 3:18-22 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

IOW, it's NOT water baptism.

Nope, I don't think that at all. I think getting in fights on the Internet is a poor idea in general and is particularly disedifying for Christians.

I appreciate the links! But I am not a new Christian. I was saved at age 11.

I posted the article for those who may be new believers or want to become believers.
