So, are they merely suggestions, according to the Pope?
What is this idiot babbling about now?
He is in his seventies and has one lung. Isn’t it time he left us and received his eternal rewards?
what? My French Catholic grandmother always said, that a Christian who is living by the commandments is doing well.. which commandment does he suggest we loosen up on?
blithering pope
Do I hide in the rigidity of the closed Commandments, that are more and more safe, but that do not give joy, becaues they do not make you free?
++
Looks like we can escape from all of them in order to receive joy and to be free.
Pope Fransoros
The Sixth Commandment, for one.
Can this Pope be recalled?
Pope Footnote prefers joy, so where there are Commandments and teaching of them is going on, there is rigidity.
According to Pope Footnote, the Commandments are not joyful, and rigidity is found in them. The Commandments are not joyful. They do not make you...”free”. They are not a gift.
In short, he teaches that they are a drag on his joy.
There is more truth in that statement than one would beleive.
Pope Fransoros - the CHAOS pope !
"Many is the road,.. but narrow is the gate "
Does this guy think he is getting through to anybody? He criticizes conservative Catholics repeatedly and he isn’t really teaching Catholic teaching to any non-Catholics.
Why doesn’t he just cut to the chase. I read the article. All he had to say was Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
A person that is truly saved will want to follow the commandments (not the suggestions) as well as the new command in the New Testament John 13:34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
And the commandments of the Lord referred to inn context in 1 Cor 14:47, or the commandment of the Lord in 1 Thes 4:1-8 or 1 John 3:23.
So what do we Catholics believe?
” The Ten Suggestions”
I’m not convinced this Pope believes in God.
I agree - and that is unusual! The 10 commandments were a part of the Old Covenant, which was totally replaced by Jesus.
Think of it this way - - The 10 commandments stood between us and a righteous God - keep them and remain in full communion with Him. As Jesus illustrated in the sermon on the mount, this was virtually impossible. However, Jesus fulfilled (completed) all of the requirements of the old covenant, and He now stands in place of the 10 commandments between us and a righteous God. And as God (the Father) looks upon us, He sees the perfection of His Son, Jesus. Thus, we - through Jesus - are fully acceptable to the Father. Thus, the 10 commandments have been made irrelevant! - replaced by the new commandment of Love - for God and each other. It really is that simple.
Yep, it’s all just a snap o’ the fingers!
“God created the world and then created man, the Pope said”
Well, at least he got that right.
As for the rest of the homily, I give it two pedo bears and three Karl Marx’s.
