That happens to be the truth and it’s not “anti-Semitic” to say the truth about something. Sorry if it offends you to hear it. But why stop at only part of my comment? Did you read what I said or just the parts that you can falsely accuse me for?
I would never say “Jews are anti-Christian” because that would be untrue.

This is going to take another two hundred years at least.

Weren’t some people tortured and killed as a result of this ‘teaching?’ Maybe I’m misremembering.
Oh well, back to my study of Matthew.
To: Mr. M.J.B.
While you're in your study of Matthew, jump ahead to chapter 27. It starts out saying:
Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed. So they bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate the governor. (Matt. 27:1,2)
While Pilate was sitting on the judges seat, his wife sent him this message: Dont have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him. But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed. Which of the two do you want me to release to you? asked the governor. Barabbas, they answered. What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah? Pilate asked. They all answered, Crucify him! Why? What crime has he committed? asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, Crucify him! When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. I am innocent of this mans blood, he said. It is your responsibility! All the people answered, His blood is on us and on our children! Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified. (Matt. 27:19-26)
It really is an unescapable fact that Jesus' main accusers WERE the Jewish religious leaders and they DID demand his execution as these passages attest. Have people in the past used these facts to persecute and murder Jewish people? Yes, they have and it is horrible and shameful - no Christian should have ever been involved in such crimes. Jesus nor his disciples ever condoned such actions and would have condemned such. And, like I said in my post - which was selectively quoted - Jesus willingly gave up his life to be our Kinsman Redeemer. He said he freely laid down his life for the sins of the world and ALL mankind has a part in WHY Jesus died.
I really don't get it why a few people here have such chips on their shoulders and are so vindictive and hateful towards Christians - as if ANY of us had a part in the persecution of Jews in the Holocaust. Genuine Christians love others and seek only to share the truth of the gospel with respect and humility - as much as possible. Isn't there enough animosity in the world that Freepers don't have to foment it with each other?

Physically gagged when I read a certain part in Luqa. Whole thing sounds like an episode of The Sopranos.

How well can you read Aramaic?
