“Buffalo gal can you come out tonight?” - Catholic ping!
Except for the rather odd idea that guardian angels are dead human beings, which is definitely not a Catholic belief, a very good movie. Helped to convert my wife to the pro-life side (long before we married, that is).
Beat me to it
Humans cannot become angels.

Re : Post #1
Best post I have read (re-read) in many moons ~ thank you for posting.
hetreosupremacist most sincerely wishes you and all of yours a Merry Christmas...
:^)
The kid that opened the gym floor to the swimming pool played ‘Alfalfa’ in the Little Rascals.
IIRC the scene where Mr. and Mrs. Martini cross themselves upon moving into their new home at Bailey Park was opposed by the studio execs but Frank Capra insisted it remain.

You posted, “definitely not a Catholic belief.” Correct! They only showed a human form to visualize their message in a way most people would relate to it.
Angels exist in God’s invisible universe.
Be not afraid, guardians - unseen, unsung, heroic, ever present Holy Servants Of GOD!
For the Creator of all Creation hath created all things ~ Visible and Invisible. ~
*P.S. Helped to convert my wife to the pro-life side*
You are my hero, Sir!
God’s Holy Angels will escort your eternal soul to Paradise!
I believe this is a common misconception. On the other hand, having Clarence be at one time a mortal makes him more relateable to the Bailey character.
Great post and one of my all time favorite movies. “HEY, MERRY CHRISTMAS MR. POTTTER!”
Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.
Every time an angel visits you can smell roses. Seriously.
This is a Christian themed movie.
Wonderful movie and such a great review!
If he were Catholic and decided to pray to Mary he might have gotten the same result. When Catholics pray to Mary, we know what we mean, non-catholics don’t. We pray to her for her intercessory help and she is a very powerful intercessor. Surely you didn’t say the word Christian in a way to leave Catholics out. Catholics are ALSO Christians. The word Catholic means Universal. Catholics are Christians of the Universal Church founded by Jesus Christ. Thank you, Merry Christmas!
Sounds to me like you're hedging your bet.
When Catholics pray to Mary, we know what we mean, non-catholics dont. We pray to her for her intercessory help and she is a very powerful intercessor.
Ah..special insider knowledge??
However, there is no Scriptural support for Mary being a "powerful intercessor".
John chapter 2 is in my Bible. Is it in yours?
Note that John says clearly later on that he didn't put any extraneous details or extra stories in his Gospel. Our Lady at the wedding feast of Cana is therefore not an extraneous detail, but quite important.
