“Ahab the Ayrab” by Ray Stevens.
Bought a closeout stack of Greek rebetiko CDs. Some of them sound very Middle Eastern; if you said it was Egyptian I would believe it.

“Misirlou” by Dick Dale
Technically, has Greek origins, but became Arabisized and made it to Dick Dale through his Lebanese heritage.

A lot of Balkan music sounds like Arabic music.

I’m sorry. If Barry Manilow music didn’t cure the world of terrorism, Arabic music ain’t gonna do it.

Incorrect. There is a lot of Islamic music—especially from Iran, which has a very rich musical tradition. Much of the traditional Greek music was influenced by the Ottoman Empire when Greece was under Ottoman control for many years.

Why Listen to Arabic Music?
Cause I'm driving a classic Dodge Dart with only an AM radio, and the only other 3 stations still on the air are running preachers, medical infomercials and ESPN?

I love her version of MARCO POLO! I could listen to it over and over again.
Now that I think of it, I DO!

1st. Neither one of the fools know a thing about music.
2nd. I carry myself better than they will ever carry a note.
3rd. They sound like a goat....A dying goat.
4th. You don’t swing your head side to side when singing, unless you can’t sing and you are making up the notes as you go along.
5th....Scmitar sounding man, on the string...Stop...You can’t match the sound of two cats getting it on.
Be a professional and pick up a snappy tune....

Don’t. Because Arab music sounds like a garbage can full of beer bottles falling down an elevator shaft. I’d rather pierce my eardrums with safety pins.

Most memorable coffee I've had was Vietnamese iced coffee. It was pretty much just a sweet iced latte... but back then nobody knew what a latte was. The best cup, to me, is whatever cup I can get my hands on in the morning to have with that first Lucky Strike of the day.
I am, seriously, the complete opposite of a coffee snob... I would drink day old cold coffee filtered through Lena Dunham's pantyhose.
