Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod is fairly firm in not ordaining women to the Pastoral Office.

For now!

At one time they were also firm in opposing ABC.

Artificial Birth Control. My apologies, I thought this was a common abbreviation.

The reason is spiritual, not soulish.

Men don’t have wombs, so just because a particular man voices a desire to have a baby in his body, doesn’t mean he is righteous in pursuing that agenda.

The same thing applies to the spiritual gift of Pastor-Teacher. It is only described in Scripture as a spiritual gift to men.

A bunch of women seeking worldly power as a counterfeit substitute for what God provides in His Plan, simply places them in a state of sinful rebellion. The longer they resist Him, the more they degenerate.

I do not know the history of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod’s position on contraception; but it does not appear to have been as firm as the Catholic position. I do know that the LCMS position statement on the ordination of women to the pastoral office appears to be every bit as firm as the Catholic position and shows no hint of weakening.
