And this is the lethal system of religious indifferentism, which is repudiated by the light of natural reason itself. In this light we are warned that, among many religions which disagree with one another, when one is true, anther must necessarily be false, and we are further admonished that there can be no association with light and darkness. Against these repeaters of ancient errors, the people must be assured, Venerable Brethren, that the profession of the Catholic Faith is alone the true one, since the Apostle tells us that there is one Lord and one baptism. As Jerome says, the man who eats the Lamb outside of this house is profane, and the man who is not in the ark of Noah is going to perish in the deluge. Neither is there any other name apart form the Name of Jesus give to men by which we must be saved. He who believes will be saved, and he who shall not have believed will be condemned.[9]
Can anyone even imagine Pope Francis speaking like this?
Ping
This pope is an a-hole!
I hope everyone on FR sees this chart and takes it to heart.
But don’t expect the NYT or WaPo to publish it.
I’m so sick of libs painting the crusades as being a entirely a Christian attack on Islam.
Me, too.
Ditto.
St. Francis wasn’t just about cute little bunnies and birdies. He lived a life of radical poverty, body and spirit. He was a fervent follower of Christ.
how very very very very very very very very sad.
“St. John, the disciple of the Lord, (the Apostle of love), going to bathe at Ephesus, and finding Cerinthus inside, rushed out of the bathhouse without bathing, shouting: ‘Let us fly, lest even the bath-house fall down, for Cerinthas, the enemy of truth, is inside!’ And Polycarp himself replied to Marcion, who met him on one occasion asking: ‘Do you know me?’ ‘I do know you’, replied Polycarp, ‘I know you to be the first born of Satan!’ Such was the horror which the Apostles and their disciples had against holding even verbal communication with any corrupters of the truth” - St. Irenaeus of Lyon, Against the Heresies, book III.
Thank-you so much. I really needed that post to strengthen my faith today... and every day. Bless you and may we all strike out as apostles for Jesus Christ as is the purpose of our baptism and confirmation in the Holy Church.
May Saint John Baptist protect Islam... Pope St John Paul II
Pope Francis religious indifferentism is the doctrinal nemesis of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI and is in stark opposition to the Magisterium of the Church.
By disobedience, the Pope can separate himself from Christ despite the fact that he is head of the Church, for above all, the unity of the Church is dependent upon its relationship with Christ. The Pope can separate himself from Christ either by disobeying the law of Christ, or by commanding something that is against the divine or natural law. By doing so, the Pope separates himself from the body of the Church because this body is itself linked to Christ by obedience. In this way, the Pope would, without doubt, fall into schism....
He would do that if he did not observe that which the Universal Church observes in basing herself on the Tradition of the Apostles, or if he did not observe that which has been ordained for the whole world by the universal councils or by the authority of the Apostolic See. ESPECIALLY IS THIS TRUE WITH REGARD TO THE DIVINE LITURGY, as, for example, if he did not wish personally to follow the universal customs and rites of the Church.
Cardinal Juan de Torquemada (Summa de Ecclesia 1489)
Proclaimed Defender of the Faith by Pope Eugene IV
Of course taken to its logical conclusion this compels the conclusion that we publicly brand all non-Catholic Christians as heretics, Jews, Mormons, and Jehovah’s Witnesses included. Heretics may be, but public denunciations may today be regarded as hate crimes.
.....Or could it be because Pope Francis is in TRUTH FEARFUL for those Christians in the Middle East who are under attack by Muslims for their faith in Christ?
In other words,if he stood up to the Muslims, the more likely there would be more attacks against Christians?
