"There is enough of a peer review process that I don't think anyone would get away with skewing Divine revelation for very long." Good point. Excellent point. That's why I have so much confidence in what some call the "Hermeneutic of Continuity." If such-and-such is what serious scholars thought it meant for the first 1500 years, I give that credibility at a significantly higher notch than I give to Joe Gyro's sincere best guesses a millennium-and-a-half later.

Wow! Just wow!
My eyes were transfixed when I read that. Incredible arrogance blended with blatent wrong-headedness. But I probably said worse before I accepted The Truth and He still forgave me and forgot about it.

Show me a teaching of the apostles contained in them that are lost by not including them.

No, you are inaccurate in your self-assessment. Okay.
You repeatedly evade direct questions and reply to what you were not asked...as leftists are trained to do. You know, regular bully tactics.
You mean questions like, "Why do you worship dead people, statues, goddesses and crackers? Okay.
Would have been better if you'd passed giving your "response" and not replied disingenuously. There's more intellectual honesty in that.
Appreciate the input.
You still are not making a convincing case for the RCC's validity as the one true church of Jesus Christ. Certainly not a compelling case.
I'm only obligated to provide a defense. It's not up to me to convince others or make them believe. That's the work of the Holy Spirit. (1 Peter 3:15)

The use of the Greek destroys a lot of the claims the roman cultists make about Mary not supported by Scripture. I don't think it should be surprising that this was why the Latin Vulgate became the preferred translation.

Can you imagine one of the apostles with that attitude? If that wasn’t putting an organization over Jesus I don’t know what is.

Show me a teaching of the apostles contained in them that are lost by not including them. And thus we have the protestant modifier. Whereby the canonicity of the deuterocanoncials is reduced to, "Well I could've gotten it somewhere else."

Remember that Lord Jesus Christ is the same always. God Our Father in Heaven never changes. God the Holy Spirit points to The Way in which we ought to walk and confirms in us that Jesus Christ is Lord and the Son of God.
The words Jesus spoke to us and recorded in the Holy Bible are Spirit and they are Life Eternal. Point being, He speaks personally to each of us who is blessed to hear His voice and His call throughout history.

Is there any penalties or dangers if you ignore Mary? none that I am aware of

The one with the moneybag developed a strong 'tude.
To: Resettozero
I guess it’s because of His speaking to me personally, then that I am so happy about being a Catholic.

Why don't your Priests and Bishops marry? we have a lot of married priests in the Catholic church....those who were in the church of England and converted to Catholicism for example. The church could change that rule (celebicy) because it is just that, a church rule. I don't think they will though because it is nice to have people solely dedicated to the church and her members.
To: JPX2011
So there are no teaching by the apostles contained in them. Gotcha. What about things the apostles didn’t teach?

By clearly and honestly describing the poster’s behavior you will be told you are guilty of “making it personal.”

You mean questions like, "Why do you worship dead people, statues, goddesses and crackers? Okay.
Never asked you that in any post. Deceptive of you and deflective.
I'm only obligated to provide a defense.
I see. You're just doing your job regardless whether it involves doing it truthfully, using leftist tactics, or just any ol' way. You have made your position clearer.

I guess its because of His speaking to me personally, then that I am so happy about being a Catholic.
Then my opinion is that you are where He wants you to be for now.

Look, on the one hand, there is the incorrupt body of Bernadette Soubirous:
So the Church didn't choose to make a chandelier out of her bones? Good for her! Take away the wax face and hands and I doubt anyone would say her body was "incorrupt".

The RCC the only ones there???????? For over TWO thousand years....... the only Christians there for the first 1,600 years of Christianity....the dissenters came along then and now there are hundreds of groups of them each of which thinks they are right...sad
To: terycarl
You didn’t answer the question.
Why did the Church turn away from the teachings of Jesus’ first Apostles and forbid Priests and Bishops the freedom to marry?
I’m talking about those who directly become Catholic Priests. I’m not asking about C of E converts.
