...And the “keep” of Rev. 3:10 is in the sense of “to watch or to guard.” You may recall that there used to be a type of medieval castle called a “keep.” Same meaning.
Christ wouldn’t need to watch or to guard us in heaven. That would only be necessary if there was something to guard us FROM.
We know that many Christians will be martyred during the Great Tribulation, and we know that they’ll be supernaturally protected from some of the plagues (Rev. 9:4 and Rev. 16:2, for example.) Perhaps that’s how Christ “keeps” them through those trials?
Not necessarily. So far as I know the bible doesn’t mention continents besides Europe, Africa, and Asia. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist or that they’re presumed not to exist.
It just means they weren’t central to the message.
That means that the message could ignore them, and that the readers could too....even though they didn’t know them to be able to ignore them.
The US is mentioned in Jacob’s death bed prophecy in Genesis.
It is the “Great Nation” of Manasseh.
But so what? - It doesn’t reveal anything about what that nation would do.

And what do you think that means?

This Religion Forum thread is a “premillennial caucus” meaning if you are not currently, actively premillennialist then do not post on this thread.
scripture?
Maybe we’re just spectators, along with all the other nations not clearly referenced.
>> “I would add another one: it is mentioned and we dont recognize it.” <<

That would be the correct answer, for those that do not understand the early prophecies in Genesis. We definitely are mentioned.
.
My point is that in both cases, there is speculation about situations that lack positive evidence about a given topic. A person can make all sorts of guesses about things that are not stated in the Bible without questioning its infallability.

Genesis 48:18-19

OK. I am not currently, actively premillenialist. My mistake.
Genesis 48:18-19
Can you give more reason why you think that verse speaks of the US? It clearly is not in the words of the verses. (Gen 48:18-19)
I don’t mind speculation in which one is trying to correlate some known facts with some kind of “theory” (or model) to explain the facts (within that “model”).
The problem comes in with the Bible, when the “model” that one chooses (and says matches the facts of the Bible) is subsequently endowed with Biblical Inerrancy. It’s not - but the Bible’s stated facts are (i.e., “inerrant”).
With both CNN and the Bible, keep the speculation and the facts (and a “model”) separate — and you’re fine.
Thus, if one does that - and more specifically with the Bible - it will impact the Bible’s infallibility and inerrancy in no way.
I never said they didn’t exist, I said the writer had no idea that they did.

I believe the Great Tribulation occurred in the generation of the disciples, like Jesus said it would. But as you mentioned, lots of Christians were martyred, and over 1.1 million Jews were killed or starved to death in Jerusalem, alone.
