I’m talking about the annulment if it’s denied not going to Rome for final approval. That should be done at the Diocese level. It would take about a year off the process.
I am not saying the previous were incorrectly ministering.
Rather, what I am saying is the current Pope appears to be more focused on how to reach those who express feelings of rejection by the Church (regardless of how irrational those feelings are).
There is nothing new under the sun. However, to love our neighbor, we need to encourage them to first believe Jesus loves them, as does the Church.
Compared with God, we are like naughty children, who have to be “let back in,” so we will respond to correction and learn the lessons God is trying to teach us. Assurance of love is one of the most important aspects of developing a healthy conscience.
First of all, it's not usually Rome that grants a nullification of marriage. It's the Diocesan tribunal.
Secondly, if the tribunal refuses to declare a nullification, the only positive option for the petitioner is to appeal to Rome, not the tribunal that just turned him down. Why would the tribunal suddenly reverse itself?
Thirdly, it sounds like you are very pro-"annulment" and the less doors one has to knock on to commit adultery, the better.
The problem is: what correction have we seen come from this "who am to judge" papacy?
I’m just saying it’s crazy for anything to have to go to Rome.
I don’t know, as I am too busy raising 3 kids, earning a living, and trying to survive.
So what's the purpose of Rome?
What do recommend instead? A pinky swear between the adulterous husband and his mistress that they won't cheat on each other like they did with their own spouses? A general absolution from the local Jesuit?
Good for you and I wish you the best. I hope you’re a better disciplinarian than Francis is.
The apostles were not walking around with a New Testament.
Better to pray.
I suggest you read the chapter of the prophet you’re named after.
Nevermind it was in January with the RAI talk show guy.
I don’t understand how fellow Christians drool at the opportunity to jump down our throats.
But hey, it was good enough for Korah, Dathan and Abiram... they knew better. Like Balaam, ‘Yeah, i’ll do what the Lord tells me’, even though he didn’t listen when he said no in the beginning and even though he couldn’t curse them, still told the enemy how to corrupt Israel and bring them down.
Judas knew better too, we know how that turned out.
You have ‘former Catholics’ who slander even more. I and every other convert I know never slandered their previous faith tradition, it was part of their journey and where the Lord led them. They thank God for the foundation.
I have yet to read a faith journey here to give glory to God, just slander. It can’t be evangelizing with the reproaches, so what is it?
Then you constantly post what the church teaches, many ignore it, could care less. You;re not asked why the church teaches it or questions on any other teachings they may deem not in scripture.
But the letter to the churches in scripture tells us the problems mostly came from the inside, from Christians.
Some jump to accept whatever ‘the world’ prints, as if the crocodile will eat them last or they have some love for them. They can’t wait for the ‘fall’.
Not even a ‘i’m praying for you to be delivered’. That’s telling.
Dug up source docs.
Read this re: article posted... This is the journalist that did the interview with the bishop (beginning and around the last two paragraphs, not the best translation):
This is what the Pope said... via Zenit
Vatican site has the wrong date for some reason (it’s the English part of the site):
Now you can see who said what.
I really believe it's a winnowing down of the Church so there will be no way any human can take credit for the turnaround no one, even Proddy folks, will be able to miss. Like the Lord winnowing down Gideon's troops before the victories to follow.
Whether or not that's the case, it's good to have all these formerly only questionable (if that) clergy out in the open.
Thanks!
