Christians, Don’t Give Up on the Homosexuality Debate

We have lost the battle over homosexual marriage, because judges have decided that not allowing homosexual marriage is the same as not allowing interracial marriage. Judges have decided that homosexuality is a minority group under civil rights laws, even though there is no such statement regarding homosexuality in our laws. Since judges have decided that’s how it should be, that’s how marriages laws are being interpreted.

Bingo. Homosexuality is now an ethnic group. That's probably one reason for the "rainbow" flag, homosexuality now being one of the "colors" of the human race.

But how did this come about? Once upon a time, not too very long ago, some chrstians decided that racial identity superseded religious identity. J*sus was their "kinsman redeemer" and they were his holy race, and they insisted marrying a co-religionist with a different skin color was forbidden by G-d. There were chrstians who disagreed and said otherwise, of course, but unfortunately secularists co-opted them completely and the overturning of jim crow and anti-miscegenation laws was portrayed as a liberating secular liberation from irrational theocratic tyranny.

Now opposition to every explicitly forbidden abomination is compared to jim crow and religion is branded as inherently oppressive and immoral(!). Only a secular moral/ethical system(!!!) can free mankind of the evils of irrational and oppressive Divine decrees.

This is what happens when you add to the Commandments of G-d (as Adam and Eve found out). Religion is now a tool of oppression to keep "people of color" (which somehow includes homosexuals) down, and it is the "duty" of secular ethics(!!!!!!) to "liberate" these poor downtrodden slobs.

Another result of all this has been the turning of a formerly Fundamentalist Protestant community (Black Americans) into a militant secularist bloc. The people everyone used to make fun of for their simple-minded religious beliefs (sound familiar?) are now enthusiastic secular materialists and leftists. Black "chrstians" have done far more than liberal Jews to secularize the American culture for the simple reason that there are so many more of them and so much secularization has been done in their name.

And incidentally--another result has been that Blacks are now the racists, the "holy chosen race" of their "kinsman redeemer" J*sus, who doesn't want them marrying white trash.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Thank you for all the fight/resist passages. I fully agree that we need to fight/resists, but I believe most of the references refer to the personal level of not being tempted by Satan and falling into the trap of doing the same things we see so many other do. We can resist on a personal level and the devil will flee from us as is stated in James - we can carry the Word to others, but we cannot fight their fights.

We must never condone the evil others do, but when we put on the armor of God, we are protecting ourselves from evil and allowing ourselves to be good examples and purveyors of the Word:

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Our "sword" is the word of God and we should wield it always.

At any rate, I believe we had a bit of miscommunication on both our parts and it didn't go very well. Getting into the Bible is always useful and rewarding.
