Just found this thread...praying for baby Dani.
We haven’t heard from you since Feb.27. Wondering what is happening with baby Dani.
Sorry! My old pastor from Nebraska said the same thing!
So for, so good. Dani has fluid around his/her head, and fluid in the tummy and bladder. We can see the kidneys, heart, and limbs just fine. So that is very good news. The Doctor is getting very positive with this case, and is planning to put my Bride in the hospital in three to six weeks to monitor Dani. She is very happy about how things are going.
We have been by ourselves since the 3rd, and I am working hard at being Mr Mom. My cooking isn’t as good as the family who stayed with us, but it is improving. I have been able to make spaghetti and roasts for years, but now I have to branch out into the uncharted territories of meat loaf and salmon dish.
I will try to keep everyone posted. Just got to tied up trying to keep ahead of our five year old!
Well, I can understand why you are not posting. If you could just post a one-liner every two weeks so we know that all is well, that would suffice. Prayers continue for Dani to hang in there along with Mommy. Thanking the lord that it’s so far so good.
Nan
We think that one of the fibroid’s in my bride has started bleeding. She has been bleeding off and on since 3 PM yesterday, but with no cramping. Dani is still moving, and the doctor doesn't think the blood is directly related to the baby.
Also, I have to go in for an MRI today. The left side of my face goes numb about once a week, followed by a headache. It isn't a new thing, and I have a history of bad neck problems, probably from thinking I was invincible till my early 20’s. I suspect it is a pinched nerve, but the MRI is to rule out a brain tumor.
In short, our long Lent continues.
We’re praying for you all!
The bleeding wasn’t because of the baby. Which was very good! Not sure what was causing it.
My MRI was normal, but still not sure what is going on.
Upgrading the prayers to include a clear MRI for you.
Good to hear the baby is fine and your MRI was normal! Will continue to pray for you all.
Please post to Kathy in Alaska for updates; she pings everyone. I’m guessing Dani is now 27-28 weeks; I’ve taken care of many babies at that age, and most of them do quiet well.
Still have your family in my daily prayers.
Some mixed news today.
My bride is still bleeding off and on, but it appears that the blood is not much and not located in the uterus or by the baby. The doctor said that that it is probably irritation from when the fluid gushes by (about once a day now) and maybe from having to wear a pad all the time. Baby Dani’s heartbeat is still strong, and the proportions on the limbs and what we can see is all right where they should be.
However, the cervex has a “gap”. Our regular doctor wasn’t in today (she was off for her son’s spring break, but is texting us), and the other doctor in the practice saw my bride. She said the my bride is not going into labor, and that the gap may have been there for a while.
The bad news is that since we have a gap at 23 weeks, my bride will probably going in to the hospital sooner than later. The good thing is that she will have 24 hour care available, and I won’t have to call an ambulance or run her in if something happens. The bad news is that it makes our time together as a family with our five year old a lot less. Still, we knew this was coming and the fact we made it this far is a blessing.
So far we don’t see anything on the ultrasound that suggest any major problems with Dani. There is still fluid around the head, and in the tummy. Dani is growing, if still small, and moving around. My bride said she was surprised last night when Dani kicked REALLY HARD on her bladder. There are no guarantee’s but we are starting to hope.
Thank you for your prayers. Our church as been wonderful, as have been our family and friends. It is hard being five hours away from our parents, but we are making it.
Just a quick follow up.
Dani is growing quickly! We had another ultrasound, and the child has gained to just over a pound and a half. We have reached the 26 week mark (12 weeks after the water break), and Dani is big enough that the child could be saved if my bride went into labor.
My bride is showing no signs of labor, and is still on bed rest. The stress and isolation is getting to her, though we have had a lot of wonderful people from church helping us out. My bride was saying last night she wants to be able to go shopping for anything for a day, just to get out of the house.
Thanks for all the prayers.
This is GREAT news! Every week is a BIG bonus for Dani’s health; Blessings to your family!
26 weeks! Awesome! Prayers continue for Baby Dani and your bride.
Need an update!!! Praying every day!
Sorry, I had another thread but I will post on this one also!
The doctor says that she expects my bride to make it to 37 weeks at least (that is the last week of June). At that point, they will do a C section.
The indications are that Dani is growing well, and there is a great chance that there will be few complications! Our biggest worry is the lungs, but every week makes that a better chance of success.
We praise Thee Lord and we adore Thee; keep Thy servant Dani in Thy care, o Lord.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Great news!!! Thank you!!
My bride may have gestational diabetes. The doctor isn’t that surprised, or that worried, as my bride has been on bed rest since January. She has to go in to the hospital tomorrow for monitoring, and they will keep an eye on her blood sugar for three hours.
So we have to go to a more protein heavy diet, which is more of what I can cook now that it is warm enough to grill. She may have to use insulin, but the doctor doesn’t think so. Still, we are in the home stretch of this journey, and we are hopeful that Dani will be born healthy and fine.
Thank you for the update. You’re going to have a healthy baby and a healthy mommy! :)
