It's more that WE have to be on God's side and hear and obey what He says. I don't believe 'Rocky' did that as God looks at the heart.
Nik is a high-wire artist,
What a mess he would make when he hit.
Thank goodness he happened to land in,
A big, steaming pile of shhhhhh .....
having cream!
Shave every morning and always feel clean.

Rockefeller was a sincere Christian, a fundamentalist Baptist who truly did think that he was doing Gods will. He can, of course, see his faults better than he, examine his actions from a very different vantage point. He was a prince, as much a man with gifts of command like King David, except that he had only had Ira Tarbell to face, not a prophet of the Lord, to show him the error of his ways.
That’s why some of us are still here.:)
Wow! I guess if you need exaggeration - go for it.
I think he should retire now, though.. He can't 'top' this. Impressive feat.. and feet! LOL
I Corinthians 4:10 "We are fools for Christ..."
I Corinthians 1:27 "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong."
Depends whose definition of a fool applies. Fools for Christ or fools for el diablo.
“Praying for the wind to subside” is one thing, commanding it to subside something else. Was Jesus speaking of a literal mountain that man could move, or was He speaking of difficult obstacles, trials, and tribulations in life? Asking is one thing, commanding is another. I spent two years in the “word of faith” movement trying to command mountains via my own creative words, I know of what I speak.
Joel Olsteen is not speaking, teaching, nor preaching the “word of God.”
Satan took Jesus up into the pinnacle of the temple tempting Him to jump off with the suggestion that God would save Him. Jesus replie, “thou shall not tempt the Lord thy God.” Being a fool is one thing, being foolish is something else. Intentionally placing one’s life in jeopardy, and asking for God’s protection could be classified as foolish. Fortunately God often protects us from our own follies.
I’ll have to find the reference, read it the other night, but there is a passage where God says his word spoken by a hypocrite or liar is still a good thing. Any time his word is praised is good.
“Welcome to FR
Gain some experience here before casting stones (I’m sure you understand the Biblical ref.).

Rather sophomoric. Do you always use the “clique” for courage?
Uh....like the Freeper said, “gain some experience before addressing the ‘elders’.”
you are correct, I have never watched the 500 or any other race for that matter.
We all can not be interested in the same things.
I guess that is what makes us unique.
I don't know what you are trying to say, but I will watch you from now on.

“His Word,” not a fabrication, wrestling, or twisting of His word, making it say something it does not. There is a vast difference between someone speaking the word (saint or sinner), and someone twisting the word. Peter speaks of those who “wrest,” or twist the word of God for their own profit, and they are compared to as “unreasoning animal” by Peter as well.
Nothing Nik said or did was a twisting of the word.
