“For over five centuries the Moravian Church has proclaimed the gospel in all parts of the world.”
Then they are protestant not Orthodox. There’s a difference.
Balance of scripture? Seriously?
Well, yes. What “balance” do you use in your odd opinions?
Acts 15:8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. 9 He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts.
Pretty clear language. Either Our Lord is God and He means it, or not.
Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.
versus
All of the Lent and Easter abomination is pagan and God clearly condemned it in scripture.
God doesnt smile down on people who celebrate Easter.
There is *nothing* He said that changed the Sabbath in any way. And as to in/out of the mouth, it is a stricter sense of the law, not a looser one - In every case He imposed a tighter adherence by stating that the doing alone is not the sin... even thinking it is a sin.
My point was that that wasnt the first time Jesus taught something that went against OT law and tradition. It , however, was the first time it was recorded how hard the teaching was and that disciples left him.
Yeshua never taught against the Torah. Not one time. And if He did, He cannot be Messiah. In fact, He cannot have added to the Torah either, or He cannot be Messiah. What you have been taught cannot, I repeat, CANNOT be.
Not a symbol. Again, not a symbol.
As you already said, it is what comes out of a man's mouth, not what goes in.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8-9 2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
That is EXACTLY right.
Here we go again, lol. Reading comprehension is your friend. They do not claim to be Orthodox, although there is quite a bit of contact between the Orthodox and themselves now, and has been since the fall of the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc satellite states.
The historical claim is that the people were originally proselytised by Cyril and Methodius who were from the East, both geographically speaking and theologically, before there was any schism between East and West. These people fell under Roman authority by the sword and several aspects of their church, faithfully honored and followed since the times of Cyril and Methodius, were then taken from them by the Roman church which had acquired several novel practices since then, which would be where the controversy regarding the Bible in the vernacular and mass in the vernacular entered into this discussion.
This led to long-simmering offense and resentments, ultimately leading to Jan Hus and the Hussites who broke with Rome outright in order to return their church to the practices originally taught them by missionaries from the East.
In this sense, the Moravian Church has roots much more in the Eastern Orthodox. Their protest such as it was, was due to a desire to return to Orthodoxy, which was being prohibited by the Roman church.
Do you understand now?
Well, okay.
If you want to try to justify not loving I’ll not stand in your way.
Still the wrong question...
John 6:54 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. Now lets go to the next verse where Jesus begins to explain.
57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.
Notice where He said this is the breadwhich came down out of heaven? Did Jesus physical body come down from heaven or was He born a true human in the flesh? Jesus was not talking about His physical flesh. Jesus said His words are spirit, not flesh.
If you want to take Jesus words just as they are then you will have to admit that He is also a door and a sheep.
Where do you get such oddities as:
All of the Lent and Easter abomination is pagan and God clearly condemned it in scripture.
God doesnt smile down on people who celebrate Easter.
Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.
Same here. Born into the Catholic Church, then later on saved by grace through faith. Southern Baptist today, praise the Lord!
Because there are some people who think and whose religion teaches that salvation is through their denomination only.
There are those of us who believe Scripture and that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus alone, apart from church membership, baptism, communion, *good* works, or any other thing that people think pays back for sin.
Part of the problem is understanding what the church really is. It is an organism, not an organization. When someone puts their trust in Christ to save them, they ARE saved and become part of the body of Christ, which is what the church is. It's not headquartered somewhere but exists throughout time for the last 2,000 or so years and across the world.
It's visible in that it is made up of believers, and invisible because there is no physical place where it is located.
It takes a while to wrap your mind around when you first consider it like that. It did for me having been brought up Catholic and taught to think that Catholicism was the only *real* church and that only Catholics had a chance to go to heaven.
Get lost, or on second thought you already are. I could tell you what Baptist church he is from, and his worthy credentials, but it is you, not I who is on trial for constantly promoting a church, and one in which its ministers are contrary to the NT church. Nice trying on trying take the offense, as your emperor lacks clothes.
There are churches across NYS that are chock full of Catholics who have been saved and left the Catholic church and they are some of the most vocal ambassadors for Christ going.
All that fervor they had for Catholicism is now being directed toward Christ and it's producing wonderful results.
Acts 15:8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. 9 He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts.
Loving has nothing to do with it. Surely your definition of love would not include allowing someone you love to remain in error unto death. Are you deciding which of Gods instructions to listen to and obey? Not I.
Talk about a one trick pony. My goodness!
