God defines sin in 1 John 3:4 as the willful breaking of God’s Law. That Law is condensed in the Ten Commandments. Two of the Ten directly protect property rights: the Command that forbids theft and the one that forbids coveting. One command forbids telling lies and another forbids a person from having any other god except the True God. The Commandments can be found in Exodus chapter 20.
The Apostle Paul twice (in Eph 5:5 and Col. 3:5) states that covetousness is a form of idolatry.
Of the many attributes of liberalism, a prominent one is how easily such people are willing to appropriate the property of others to achieve some social goal. This is a form of covetousness. The coveting of the assets and income of others leads to using government to secure the money. This is theft. That society would be better off because of institutional coveting is a lie.
But this covetousness is just a symptom of the moral bankruptcy of liberals. Liberals are gods unto themselves, another form of idolatry. Since they never do any wrong in their own minds, the cannot repent of their sins.
Jesus said in Revelation chapter 22:14 people are blessed when the “do His commandments”. Liberals, by the very nature of their activities, turn their backs on the Commandments.
In verse 15 of that same chapter, Jesus tells us that idolaters will not be allowed to enter the Holy City, a metaphor for salvation itself.
There is a group that visited my campus known as “Catholics for Choice.”
I wanted to attend their presentation and combat them, but I had a conflicting obligation.
What’s wrong with the “Christian left”, they no clue what the Bible is about.

I refuse to visit the site, but am very curious what Scriptures they think depicts a God sanctioned abortion.

I’ve been fighting the war with the so-called Christian Left for many years.
You can do a Google search on Sojourners and Tony Compollo and find out that in reality - they are repacking Christianity as a Socialist construct - and had openly stated that the Right had hijacked Christianity from them.
They are simply overt Marxists who are using the Sermon on the Mount to insist that being a good Christian means doing ‘Social Justice’ and practicing and advocating Socialism.
My fear is, their proponents have gloated that Democrats have taken over the GOP leadership, and they need to do the same thing to all Christian churches.
Given the whole homosexual marriage zeitgeist even in the churches - I’d say they have just about succeeded in their takeover bid.
They also used the Bible to justify slavery back in the day.
The Christian Left, Catholics for Choice, and any other Leftist organization has absolutely no affinity to Jesus. They distort his message for their political purposes.
When Jesus was born, Herod committed a horrific act of infanticide, and this monsters believe that Jesus would be in favor of abortion?

Nietzsche predicted that sometime during the 20th century the death of God would result in a world turned upside-down. And so it is. Today self-righteous finger-pointing is the ‘new’ moral law, truth is lie, the unnatural is natural, death is life and apostasy and heresy are Christian.
There isn’t a Christian left or right. You can only be a Christian by being a Christian. That’s the author’s point.

There are those who claim “Christian”, who do not understand the Bible, they tend to come from the left politically or cults.
So, right after saying “We’re not about Dogma here” they go on to make a whole litany of dogmatic statements regarding “what they are about”. LOL.
