Don’t drink the bong water.
It’s satire, EEGator.
Focus your energy on living a good, moral like.
If you believe in the rapture, make sure you’ve accepted JC.
If you don’t, your good moral life will be its own reward.
Worrying about this stuff is really not productive. You cannot change it. You can only change yourself.
Sorry-—missed the satire tag.
What I said still stands. Just with a smile.
If you read the prophecy there is a pope before Petrus Romanus.
1. In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit. (Pope Francis I)
2. Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus, quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & judex tremendus judicabit populum suum. Finis. (???)
Oh good grief. All around a prophecy the church doesn’t even acknowledge as real. I was hoping all this junk would go away when we obviously didn’t get a ‘Peter the Roman’.
What’s next, Nostradamus?
The meaning of this sentence is often misconstrued, in my opinion.
The reason NO ONE knows the day or hour is that there is no set DAY or HOUR.
It is a 'condition'. God didn't set a time, just a condition. When there is more 'evil' in man, than 'good'.... that is when it happens.
What does the abbreviation “s.r.e” mean?
Many thanks for the clarification of where we are in Malachy’s pope list.
The problem with your satire is that way too many people believe exactly what you are parodying. Even WND had a story pretty much in line with this.
Maybe they 'understand' the prophecy and ignore the 'forecasting a date' part for a reason.
This new Pope seems to understand it. He is 'setting the example', which is pretty much the essence of Bible teachings.
Ha, my bad. I’ve seen plenty of crazy religious nonsense that wasn’t satire...you win, I feel stupid. :)
A-ha! You’re the only person I’ve ever come across who reads that as two separate popes, but I can’t refute that. Good call!
Supposedly he is the last one.
The new pope chose Francis, referring to St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis of Assisis birth name was Giovanni Francesco di PIETRO(Peter) Bernardone.
Both of Pope Francis parents are from Turin, Italy which makes his heritage Italian/Roman.
So you could call him Francis the Italian, Peter the Italian, Francis the Roman, or even Peter the Roman.
If you look at this in context of the Mahdi (Islamic Messiah) from the Shia Muzzie perspective you will find that he is supposed to make war against the Jews and the Christians when he shows up. Iran certainly wants to expedite this occurring with their rush to build nukes.

Keep those two in perspective when you find out that a twelfth century rabbi predicts the coming of the Messiah in or about 2017 with all of his predictions leading up to it being very accurate.

We already have a couple of wannabe messiahs - Obama (the One) and L’il Kim (the Un).
And then you see the state of the economies around the world on the verge of collapse along with the DHS preparing for it and it leads me to speculate we could be in for a heck of a ride over the next four or five years.
I said it when he was elected, Francis will be short lived.
Let me know when the funny starts.
Half of Freeperdom seems to have been caught up in the speculation that Pope Benedict XVI's successor would be Peter the Roman, the final pope before the end of the world.
Only half?
“Think about it: Pope Francis won’t even wear the papal vestments.”
I just can’t see the order of albino assassin monks taking orders from someone named Francis anyhow.
“Slay me this heretic.”
“Whatever. We’ll be sure to get right on that, FRANCIS.”
Freegards
Hillarious, Dangus!
You forgot to mention that Francis may have a relative named Rock which is another for Peter thus I think you may have missed the fact that the relative is going to take up residence in the Papal apartments.
He’s unemployed right now.
You know you can’t let your relatives live under bridges.
