Follow the money. From the Billy Grahams to the Schullers, its all about dropping $$s into the family bank. These religious hucksters range from the benign to the bizzare aka Rev. Jim Jones and Rev. Wright. The curse of the Reformation!

That Huffington Post article was interesting (I’m not clicking the other one at work). I still don’t find cause to disapprove ... yet.
Her observations about women’s sexuality in Christianity aren’t completely off-base. This is an area where we could do better.
The article doesn’t talk much about her ‘sexuality’ specifically ... but does talk about a few other women. She talks about one who is apparently well-endowed, and uncomfortable because she thinks her body-type causes men to lust and sin against God.
She talked about a girl who was afraid of sex because she thought it was dirty.
This are not how Christian women should think about sexuality. That they do is a failure of the Church to appropriately educate. Having big boobs is not a sin. Sex is not “dirty” ... there is just an appropriate time and place.
I don’t know if this chick is legit or not. She could be a heathen for all I know. If she is, and she has an audience among miseducated Christian women ... that’s partially on the Church for miseducating them in the first place, and driving them away. There’s no reason Christian women should think that way about sex.

I think that Graham at least brought challenge to the changing mores in the 1960s and 70s and offered his ear and advice to US presidents (even if not always his support). With Barack Obama in the White House (a man who has boasted of his “healthy skepticism of organized religion”), he saw no need to bring his message to not only deaf but hostile ears.
Without being open with her views on the controversial sexual issues, it leaves me with skepticism. But for now, she sells books and gets attagirls from the liberal media.
“A certified spiritual director (whatever that is), Wyatt says her passion for serving God was met by a desire to be a sexy, strong and self-aware woman (whatever that means).
She wants to have faith and femininity. To feel sensual without shame. To break free from religious constraints.”
As usual, it’s all about me, me, me, and what I want, not what God wants for me. That’s not serving God, it’s serving yourself.
“The curse of the Reformation!”
Right, because before the Reformation, priests never pocketed money from the collection plate, or tried to pass church property down to their children. /sarc
if religious hospitals are required to perform abortions, then religious publishers should be required to publish porn
(it is probably already in the Dem party platform for 2016...)
I remember when Robert Senior was home sick and they advertised in the church people should drop off food at the church and they would have the LIMO DRIVER pick up the meals to take to him at the family estate..... BWWWWAAAAHHHH!!!!
What Miss Wyatt doesn’t like is herself. Anyone this desperate for attention and uncomfortable about who they are clearly needs some kind of counseling. She strikes me as the kind of woman who would gladly have pulled her drawers down for a quarter when she was younger.
Of course, there will always be sinners. But the curse of the Reformation is as what spawned tens of thousands of “Christian sects” where each one with a Bible on one hand and a gift of the gab with a touch of charisma were allowed to attract “low-intellect” pastors and hordes of Kool-Aid followers like David Koresh, Jim Jones, and now the latter day Joel Osteens, the Rev. Wrights and Bishop Jakes of this world, all in the name of building family-run enterprises.
I really wouldn’t doubt it!
My first impression of Obama was that he was very similar to the tent preachers at a revival.

Every catholic funeral I’ve been to, the priest talks about the newly deceased person is looking down on us from heaven. How the hell would he know? Many of these priests didn’t even know the deceased person. Comforting words definitely. But what message does that send everyone about how to get to heaven? So I wouldn’t be ranting about the superiority of the one true church. Just sayin.
Maybe its not the curch that is the “small minded” one

“But the curse of the Reformation is as what spawned tens of thousands of Christian sects...”
Yeah, let me stop you right there and say there were plenty of Christian sects that split off before the Reformation. The only difference now is that the Catholics can’t get away with slaughtering heretics anymore. So, you can’t make them go away, I guess you are relegating to whining about them on an internet forum. Boo freakin’ hoo.
“How the hell would he know?”
Don’t you know? The Catholic church gets to decide who is in heaven and who isn’t, not Jesus. Well, according to them, anyway.
As the saying goes, “he/she who lives in glass houses.”

Can you provide a link to information showing that Billy Graham is a huckster who lined his pockets?
