That's because they don't see THEMSELVES as being the church. To them *the church* is that institution in Rome that issues decrees and dictates that they are obligated to follow, no questions asked or allowed.
They perceive themselves to be just that poor, wretched sinner continually begging for God's mercy, not even seeing God holding out His hand with the gift of salvation being offered to them if they'd just take it and it would be theirs for eternity.
The gates of hell will not be able to prevail against those who are IN CHRIST, because no matter what the worst Satan can do, even to the point of taking a life, doesn't give Satan tie victory. At that point, the believer is out of Satan's reach FOREVER.
So that's how you guys think you pull that off...
Your Church is the Body of Christ and since you are a member of your Church, you are 'In Christ'...
And of course you get the 'Christ In You' when you eat the wafer...

Jesus clearly and plainly teaches that nobody is to call religious leaders or authority *father*.

we haven’t figured out the angels on a pin yet, but we have figured out that baptism is for the remission of sins and receiving the Holy Spirit and NOT as some useless test of obedience.

Yep, all those who think it takes more than “believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved – and your house”. Many of them call themselves Catholic.
yes, they claim to love Jesus, but by their words and actions, they show they actually reject Him by rejecting His Body.
No offense, but I will take the advice of those Early Church Fathers how learned at the feet of the Apostles and who had the faint and conviction to die for their beliefs over the musings of someone who rejects the Church founded by Christ and who lurks and posts anonymously in an internet chat room.
If being a Christian were against the law today like it was in the first three centuries of the Church I seriously doubt that there would be sufficient evidence to convict most of the posters in these threads.

I do not believe that even the most ardent anti-Catholics reject Christ. We are simply dealing with a lack of understanding. If we don't try to understand them we will never succeed in having them understand us.
Without an understanding of the concept of "substance" there can be no understanding of transubstantiation. Without an understanding of transubstantiation they see the body and blood of Christ as a piece of bread and cup of wine.
