Wonderful news! Praise Jesus! Converts make the best Catholics, truthfully.

I was delighted with these pictures of Jesus sent me by a friend in my parish, and looking for a pretext to put them on a FReeper thread. I hope you don't mind that I chose yours!

Why won’t you answer my question? The answer is in the Bible you claim as the FINAL AUTHORITY.

"...I'll have to ask her if they've made an evolutionist of her."

Why would you need to do that? Our Creed, the Nicene Creed, begins with the declaration that God created the Heavens and the Earth, of all that is seen and unseen. The Church does not teach evolution, it only states that Theistic Evolution, as a process created and used by God, is not incompatible with Genesis.

I have explained this to you before.

Six day young earth creationism is not one bit more "impossible" than a "virgin birth." Anyone who can believe in a "virgin birth" has no excuse whatsoever to reject six day young earth creationism other than a purely non-theological reason . . . such as, for example not wanting to believe something associated with "trailer trash."

Now . . . when do you suppose I will have to explain it to you again?

"I have explained this to you before."

The Church does not discount either ex nihilio creation nor a Virgin birth. What you haven't explained is why you believe those and yet reject the Real Presence.

The Church does not discount either ex nihilio creation nor a Virgin birth.

Nice twisting of my words there. I didn't say one word about "ex nihilo creation." I said six day young earth creationism. Anyone who can believe that a woman can magically give birth to a child without the participation of a human father can certainly believe the literal truth of everything written in the first eleven chapters of Genesis. The only reason for the discrepancy is that the "virgin birth" is "respectable" and Genesis isn't. That's all there is to it. Scientific theories about origins are based on the assumption that the processes that are gradually bringing about stars, galaxies, volcanoes, islands, etc. today are identical to the processes that brought the heavens and earth into existence in the first place. By this same logic, since all babies require the presence of a mother and a father, the "virgin birth" must also be rejected. But Catholics accept the "virgin birth" and reject Genesis because they are social snobs who look down on "trailer trash."

You knew every bit of this beforehand. Your feigning ignorance makes me wonder about your sincerity.

What you haven't explained is why you believe those and yet reject the Real Presence.

Since I don't believe in chr*stianity in the first place, it's a little unreasonable of you to demand that I believe in the "real presence," isn't it? I also find it difficult to believe that you didn't know this either.

If you really want to be a martyr there are more effective ways than crying about being a poor misunderstood redneck picked on by better educated Catholics. The Catholic Church does not reject Genesis, but Salvation does not depend on an absolute acceptance of the literalist view of it. Some individual Catholics believe that Genesis is a poetic description of Creation and rejoice in the knowledge THAT God created the universe ex nihilio (from nothing) and not HOW He did it.

Your rejection of Christianity is your loss. Isaiah 5:1-7 identifies Israel as God's vineyard that will be leased to others (Matthew 12:9). The Catholic Church is the New Israel.

1)I am not concerned with "salvation," which (as you understand it) does not exist. 2)Those Catholics who interpret Genesis as "poetry" had better also believe the "virgin birth" is a "poem" as well. If define only Genesis as "poetry" and interpret the verses about the "virgin birth" literally they are inconsistent and hypocrites.

Your rejection of Christianity is your loss. Isaiah 5:1-7 identifies Israel as God's vineyard that will be leased to others (Matthew 12:9). The Catholic Church is the New Israel.

That's hilarious.

Sorry for pinging you so much on this thread widey. I won't do it any more (beli neder, of course).

The contention that Dr E is in the process of becoming a devotee of the Vatican Ashteroth-Mary-goddess org headquartered in the Vatican and known as the RCC is

at least many multi-verses distant from well beyond

ABSURD TO THE MAX.

She has pressing complex matters that require more of her attention than her usual here would allow.

Folks are welcome to pray that God anoints her tasks and labors.

I have heard that Dr. Eckleburg, once one of the most outspoken (and wrong) critics of the Catholic Church has changed her ways. If accounts are right she has begun the process of conversion to Catholicism and is refraining from posting while in her RCIA program.

Seriously?

Yes, you are correct. I logged on a while ago. But, I am not very good at computers and just came back now. So, wording it correctly would say that I registered about 1 year ago and this is my first time posting something on this site.

What is weird to some, make sense to others. What is odd to some is normal to others. For some it’s too many questions to some it’s not enough. We are all different with different capacities, and thats why we are individuals. Would be great to read your answers to the questions you did understand. And if something was worded oddly for you, then be so kind to tell me which question, and I will re-word it for you. This would handle that issue.
