Recently, a person whom I love dearly, and who has a "Marian devotion" asked me, "Why are you bothering the people who are already good people instead of worrying about those who are lost?" The answer came to me the other evening as the Lord continues to guide me through His sacred Word. Saint Paul wrote that "Satan masquerades as an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14). We know the mother of Jesus would never oppose her Son, and since the apparitions do just that, they could very well be Satan masquerading as Mary. Saint Paul also wrote, "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them . . . everything exposed by the light becomes visible" (Ephesians 5:11-14). Therefore, I feel called to expose these attempts by the evil one to divert people's devotion away from Jesus. The most authoritative way to do this is with the light of God's Holy Word. My new test for truthfulness is -- if it does not agree with the Scriptures then it must be rejected.
AMEN!
Iscool found a good reference here from ADIUTRICEM (On the Rosary), Encyclical of Pope Leo XIII...
“9. Since faith is the foundation, the source, of the gifts of God by which man is raised above the order of nature and is endowed with the dispositions requisite for life eternal, we are in justice bound to recognize the hidden influence of Mary in obtaining the gift of faith and its salutary cultivation - of Mary who brought the “author of faith”[6] into this world and who, because of her own great faith, was called “blessed.” “O Virgin most holy, none abounds in the knowledge of God except through thee; none, O Mother of God, attains salvation except through thee; none receives a gift from the throne of mercy except through thee.””
“”O Virgin most holy, none ... attains salvation except through thee; ...””
So it would seem that, yes, the belief is that you must go through Mary to be saved.
“Many people read things and do not understand them. “
And what are we failing to understand here...
“none, O Mother of God, attains salvation except through thee”
- Pope Leo XIII
The Rosary is essentially 90% Mary and 10% God, with the exception that Jesus is Mary’s child (” .. blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus” ), He isn’t too much a part of the Rosary.
Are you kidding me? How about the mysteries? For example the sorrowful mysteries:
The agony in the garden
Scourging at the pillar
Crown of thorns
Carrying of the cross
Suffering and dying on the cross
The entire rosary is about Jesus.
That group would be wrong. You will find a lot of Catholics defending Medj. and they usually rely on a reading of Church statements on the matter in which they see what they want to see. Much like how people see Jesus on toast slices.
One big clue to the falseness of this apparation is how many times the Blessed Mother is alleged to appear. Also her message must be weighed against Scripture and Church teacing. On this basis her message misses the mark many times. An apparation can also be prudently judged by the fruit it produces. The fruit has been mixed but the glaring episodes of willfull disobedience and flagrant displays of personal ego do not speak well of Medj.
An investigation by the CDF commission does not stay the finding of the Bishop. The Bishop has stated many times that there is nothing supernatural happening.
It is unusual for the CDF to take this step. I think is perhaps because despite the Bishop’s statement people continue to believe in the apparation.
As a Catholic, the only thing I am REQUIRED to believe is the Apostle's Creed....
The rest is merely writings of the saints and popes....and culture. The essence of the Catholic faith and what we are required to believe is in the creed....ALL of it.
FYI it is Nestorious.
You have it exactly reversed - we don't go through Mary to be saved, Christ came to us through her. It's a one-way street.
Since you can't seem to find a source for the requirement that we pray to her, I suggest you retract that statement.
Catholics must not doubt or deny any of the Marian dogmas for salvation, prayer to her is theoretically optional.Maybe you missunderstood my post.Sheer and utter nonsense! The only thing I have no doubt of is your ignorance!
Vatican I states that it is necessary for salvation that men and women not only believe all that is revealed in scripture but also everything which is defined and proposed by the Church as having been divinely revealed. To reject anything taught by the Roman Church is to reject saving faith and to forfeit justification and eternal life:
See post 116 for further explanation.
You should wear a hat when you go out in the sun my good friend. See how the heat has befuddled you.
Meant with all kindness.
When I pray for someone, I pray directly to God for his grace over that someone. God doesn’t inform me that I must go through Peter, Mary etc.... for him to hear my prayer’s. To insist otherwise is looney tunes.
You will need to take that up with Pope Leo.
none, O Mother of God, attains salvation except through thee
- Pope Leo XIII
“With not too much research, it seems we are learning more about your religion than you guys are...

Demonic teaching from Rome.
The words "The agony in the garden" was never explained and the rosary was just the same prayers over and over again.
We venerate and honor Mary. To her is owed hyperdulia. To the Triune God alone is owed Latria.
Catholics and Orthodox do not understand worship the same way Protestants do. To us worship as defined in Latria involves that adoration due God alone and it is also sacrificial. Thus its central place is during Divine Liturgy when we receive the Eucharist.
We have those statues to remind us of the love, fidelity and hope of the Virgin Mary. In her we see the promises that God has made to all faithful fullfilled. By her obedience to His Word both written and living she shows us how a will illuminated by Grace unites with the Will of God to live out perfect faith.
For this faith she has been taken up body and soul to be with Father, Son and Holy Ghost and to live in all happiness for eternity in heaven with them.
The statues and icons are much like having a photograph of a loved one which we look upon to make us feel closer to them.
ROFLMHO
I think you were misunderstood to be saying we must believe Mary saves us. Not that it is necessary for salvation to be believe in the Marian Dogmas. The latter is indeed true.
YUP,
That’s the damning belief of millions.
